There Can't Be a Trace of Human Thought in Doing Things for Dafa

(Clearwisdom.net) Assisting Master in rectifying the Fa is Dafa disciples' heavenly duty, and saving all beings is Dafa disciples' obligation. In assisting Master in Fa rectification and saving all beings by clarifying the facts, distributing the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, and advising people to quit the communist organizations, I have achieved mixed results.

Once, I met a person from my hometown I had not seen for years while I was taking a walk. In an effort to persuade to him to quit the Communist Party, I said, "The wicked party has done all evil deeds and lost the hearts and minds of the people. Heaven will eliminate it, and when the time comes, its members will suffer, too. So, why not use an assumed name and quit it online." He responded, "Can you help me quit it using the name Zhang Qing?" With those words, he quit it. Another time a former coworker of mine quit after a similar explanation.

Then, one day I met a former classmate on the street. I had explained the truth about Falun Gong to him before and he was sympathetic. When he saw me he said, "You seem to be healthier. Falun Gong is really good. Can I practice it, too?" I told him I studied the Fa by reading Zhuan Falun, I did the exercises and cultivated my heart, and I tried to do better observing the principle of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. And then I told him about quitting the communist party. He agreed that the Communist Party was despised by the people, and asked me how he could quit it. I told him there were a few ways to do it. At that moment I thought, "He might not believe that quitting online will work." So, I mentioned Exodus, saying that Gods will not punish you when they eliminate the wicked party and you will be safe. To my surprise, he was repulsed by my last words and questioned, "Are there really Gods? Who has seen them? Let me think it over." As a result, he didn't quit the party at that time. Later I thought about this. With the other two persons, they quit after I said a few words. But with this one, I said more and the result was not good.

Master said,

"Then, while doing anything that has to do with validating the Fa, including doing things as a group and doing things on your own, you'll think for yourselves and try to come up with ways to solve tough problems. And when you are thinking things over, whether you use human notions or the righteous thoughts of a cultivator is going to determine the different results you get." (Teaching the Fa at the 2003 Atlanta Fa Conference)

Recalling my thoughts, I discovered that I didn't have any personal thoughts in the two successful cases. The only thought I had was that I wanted to save people, so when I saw them I explained the truth to them and advised them to quit the communist organizations. Since the thought of a God in a cultivator played its role, it went well and the result was good. Why was the result not good in the last case? His own factor aside, the main reason is in me. Master teaches us that whenever we come across a problem, we should look inside for reasons. After a careful soul-searching I found two points that run counter to Dafa.

First, human thought emerged. He had been quite sympathetic when I told him the truth about Dafa, but I had not mentioned quitting the communist organizations. I regretted it and repented to myself, "How come I did not advise my former classmate to quit the party? I will definitely save him when I see him next time." That is why when I saw him this time I had this thought of saving him. On this matter of saving him, I had had the human notion before and this time human thought emerged again when I discussed quitting the party with him. When he asked how to quit it, I could have helped him quit online using an assumed name. He could have nodded his agreement and that's all. But I went too far by telling him about things in other dimensions. Consequently he was frightened. Secondly, I instilled a negative thought in him--concerned he might doubt if quitting online would work.

Master said in "Teaching the Fa at the 2004 Western U.S. Fa Conference",

"When you're before sentient beings, as soon as words come out of your mouth and as soon as your thoughts emerge, they are able to disintegrate bad elements and the bad things that poison the world's people and that exist in people's minds. And then people will come to understand, and you'll be able to save them."

The good and evil coexist in a human. When he asked how to quit the party, that means the kindness in him has been inspired. But then the human notion in me emerged and was taken advantage of by the evil. So the demon nature in him set in and atheism indoctrinated by the wicked party prevailed. Thus he did not quit the party.

Through this experience I further realized that there should not be a trace of human thought in validating the Fa. The importance of studying the Fa and getting rid of human notions cannot be overstressed. We should constantly keep the righteous thoughts of a cultivator and do the three things well that we are supposed to do with righteous thoughts and righteous actions.
