On the night of August 31, 2006, Chen Wanyou and several other police officers illegally arrested practitioner Mr. Li Shaozhi in Jiamusi City. The officers removed all of Mr. Li's clothing except for his underpants and took turns beating him until he became unconscious. They revived him by pouring cold water on him and then continued the beating. The police officers tried to coerce Mr. Li into providing the names of his contacts through threats of torture. They also tried to force him to slander Dafa and Teacher. The torture scene was so brutal that any bystander could not bare to watch it.

On August 10, 2006, the Dongli Public Security Bureau and the Haxi Police Station in Harbin City arrested practitioner Mr. Zhang Zhong. He was "illegally detained" for 12 days in the Nangang Detention Center in Harbin City. Mr. Zhang was later taken to the Harbin City Gong'an Hospital where he has remained for over a month now. Mr. Zhang has been on a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention and he is physically very weak.

Ms. Sun Houlian lived in Xiacun Village, Gaoling Town, Moping City, Shandong Province. In August 2003, the Moping District National Security Brigade illegally arrested her while she was doing the Falun Dafa exercises at a practitioner's house. Ms. Sun was brutally persecuted in the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp and she suffered from severe constipation and blurred eyesight, and became so weak that she couldn't take care of herself.

In August 2006, in order to avoid responsibility for her health condition, the labor camp asked Ms. Sun's family to take her home. After she got home, Ms. Sun went to the Yuhuangding Hospital in Yantai City and was diagnosed with a late-stage brain tumor.

At 2:00 a.m. on September 16, 2006, officers from the Xiba Police Station in Yichang, Hubei Province broke into Dr. Tan's home and arrested her. The police covered her mouth and dragged her to the Wuhan Brainwashing Center. Since July 20, 1999 when the persecution started, the Xiba Police Station has arrested about 15 practitioners and sent them to forced labor camps or brainwashing centers.

Director of the Education Division of Jimo Middle School, Dafa practitioner Mr. Shao Lirong, was recently arrested by the Jimo 610 Office while clarifying the truth. His family doesn't understand the truth about Falun Dafa and refused to talk to practitioners about Mr. Shao's situation.

Practitioner Mr. Jiang Zhifang, over 50 years old, is from Guanghan City, Sichuan Province. On September 21, 2006, Mr. Jiang went to Majing Town to clarify the truth. He was reported and officers from the Majing Town Police Station arrested him.

8. [Hengyang, Hunan Province] Practitioner Ms. Deng Caiyun is Arrested AgainOn the afternoon of September 18, 2006, practitioner Ms. Deng Caiyun went to visit her relatives. She had just been released from a prison or forced labor camp. The Qidong County 610 Office and National Security Bureau again arrested Ms. Deng while she was at her relatives' home.

At about 3:00 p.m. on September 17, 2006, Ms. Liu Yuqin was arrested at home. Ms. Liu's husband had died and her son is a senior in high school. Ms. Liu often mailed truth-clarification materials to others. Her mail was discovered and tracked down by the police in the post office.

At 4:00 p.m. on September 21, 2006, a dozen officers including Shi Bintao and Yang Xuandi went to the Community Restaurant and illegally searched Ms. Liu Hongying's home and confiscated her property. They arrested her and held her in the Laizhou City 610 Office. Ms. Liu's family attempted to visit her many times, but were denied.

On September 26, 2006, practitioners from Jinzhou, including Mr. Cai Yujie, Ms. Cui Meilan, Mr. Zhu Laicheng, Ms. Bai Yazhen, Ms. Feng Suqin, and Liao Fuyu, were arrested while clarifying the truth in Jinzhou. Two of them escaped and four of them were taken to the Jinzhou City Detention Center.

Dafa practitioner Ms. He Lirong is in her 50s and lived in Dongzhou District, Fushun City. She was arrested and sent to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp where she was persecuted for three years. Ms. He was transferred to the Luotaishanzhuang Brainwashing Center in Fushun and has been held there for over a month.

Dafa practitioner Ms. Cheng Min, 28, lived in Wanghua District, Fushun City. She's been married for a year. After the secret service followed her for one week, an officer from Xincheng Police Station arrested her at 8:00 p.m. on January 12, 2005 while she was working in the No. 1 Petroleum Factory. Her husband was also arrested and sent to the Xincheng Police Station. The police illegally confiscated her property including computers, printers, Dafa books, and a platinum necklace. Her husband was released 24 hours later, after paying 5,000 yuan. The next day the police called Ms. Cheng's father to the police station and arrested him. They drove him to his home and confiscated his property, including Dafa tapes.

Later Ms. Cheng was illegally transferred to the Nan'gou Detention Center and held there for over a month. The police extorted 1,200 yuan from her.

On November 30, 1999, a practitioner was arrested, imprisoned in a detention center for a month, and fined 800 yuan.

On the night of July 18, 2000, several police officers broke into that practitioner's home and took him to the police station. After being confined there for a day, he was transferred to a brainwashing center for one month. During that time, the practitioner had to either sit on a hard board or was hung upside down every day.

On May 5, 2001, a group of police officers broke into that practitioner's home again and tried to arrest him, but failed. The practitioner could no longer return home. In March 2003, he was again arrested and sent to a detention center. He was illegally sentenced and sent to the Xihu Prison in Benxi. At the prison, he was forced to sit on a hard board or small stool [1.5x1.5 inches] for a long time. If he refused to do so, the guard would beat him with rubber tubes. The practitioner was bruised all over his body and continues to be persecuted.

At 2:00 p.m. on August 28, 2006, five people from the Shuncheng District Political Legal Commission and Hedong Community in Fushun City arrested practitioner Ms. Wu Lixia, who lived in Shuncheng District, Fushun City. She was arrested in front of her house and taken to the Luotaishanzhuang Brainwashing Center. Ms. Wu is currently on a hunger strike to protest her illegal imprisonment.

On the morning of September 8, 2006, Dafa practitioner Ms. Jiang Jie, in her 50s, from Fushun City, went to do some shopping. Several officers from the Fushun Public Security Bureau Division No.1 arrested her. She was taken to the Luotaishanzhuang Brainwashing Center in Fushun and is still being persecuted there.

The Dongli District Court in Harbin City intended to illegally prosecute practitioner Mr. Zhao Xidong on September 27, 2006. His defense lawyer couldn't make court that day and Mr. Zhao's family insisted the lawyer be there. Hence, the court date was delayed.

Mr. Miao Shujin, 38, is from Bamiantong Town, Muling City, Heilongjiang Province. On November 16, 2005, the Muling City National Security Brigade arrested him at his house and sent him to the Suihua Forced Labor Camp for three years. While at the labor camp, Mr. Miao suffered a head injury and profuse vomiting as a result of being beaten. His family was attempting to take him home.

At 3:00 p.m. on September 26, 2006, police officers from the Fendou Police Station in Jiamusi City and the National Security, broke into Ms. Wang Shuqin's home and confiscated her Dafa books. Ms. Wang is illegally imprisoned in the Jiamusi City Detention Center.

On September 19, 2006, an officer from the Baicheng City 610 Office arrested practitioner Ms. Guo Peiying at her home. The police confiscated a computer, a printer, and a CD. Ms. Guo is illegally imprisoned in the Zhenlai County Detention Center.

Ms. Xie Yunsheng, 53, went to Beijing on June 28, 2000, to clarify the truth. Police officers from the Shengyang office in Beijing illegally arrested her and held her for six days. Later Ms. Xie was transferred to the Longshan Brainwashing Center and persecuted. The guards forced her to squat or to bend her upper body down horizontally while keeping her legs straight. A guard with the last name of Shen beat Ms. Xie. Guard Wei Mintang repeatedly led many others to force-feed her.

Ms. Xie was imprisoned in Longshan Brainwashing Center for six months and transferred to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp for continued persecution. She had to do heavy intensive work and sit on a hard board, and she was deprived of sleep and not allowed to talk. The guards verbally abused her and kept her in the labor camp for over six months because she refused to renounce Falun Dafa.

Mr. Yao Xinren, 36, started to practice Falun Gong in 1998. The police arrested him on September 3, 2003, when he was on his way to work. Mr. Yao's family couldn't get any information about him the first month after he was arrested. Later, the family learned that Mr. Yao was deprived of sleep the first three days after the arrest, and was illegally sentenced to four years in prison. During the sentencing, the law enforcement was afraid Mr. Yao would tell the truth about Falun Gong and tied a very thin string (unable to be seen by the naked eye) around his neck. Mr. Yao is currently experiencing mental instability due to the persecution, and is held in the Weibei Prison in Weifang City.

Practitioner Mr. Yue Hanjun was a teacher at the Xinxiang Medical School in Xinxiang City, Henan Province. Mr. Yue was once illegally sent to a forced labor camp for two years. For the past 2-3 months, no one has known of his whereabouts. After other practitioners collected information, it was learned that Mr. Yue was arrested in late June.

On the afternoon of September 21, 2006, practitioner Mr. Zhao Yungong drove two middle school students to Gaoyang Town in a taxi. On their way to Gaoyang Town, Mr. Zhao clarified the truth about Falun Dafa to the students. The two students reported Mr. Zhao to the police after they got out of the taxi. The Gaoyang Town Police Station arrested Mr. Zhao and sent him to the Qi County Detention Center that same day to persecute him.

On September 13, 2006, the 610 Office arrested practitioner Ms. Yan Yuemei, an employee of the China Petroleum & Chemical Co. Zhongyuan Division. Cao Shuqin had reported her to the 610 Office. The police illegally searched Ms. Yan's house and found Dafa books and truth-clarifying materials. Ms. Yan was thus arrested. Ms. Yan was imprisoned in the Puyang City Detention Center. Nine other Falun Gong practitioners are also currently detained there.

Ms. Yang Jinsuo from Dagang District was illegally sentenced to two years' imprisonment in April 2004 and held in the Banqiao Women's Forced Labor Camp. In the labor camp, Ms. Yang protested against the persecution and as a result her sentence was illegally prolonged on two occasions. The day of her release was supposed to be October 13, 2006, but on September 26, Ms. Yang's family went to visit her and learned that the labor camp prolonged her sentence for 28 more days. This is the third time Ms. Yang's sentence has been prolonged.

On the evening of September 23, 2006, four practitioners, including Mr. Chen Jianyong and Mr. Zhang Yan, drove to Ordos City to distribute truth-clarification materials. They were reported, and a large police force was mobilized, with the whole city placed on alert. The police caught the practitioners at 9:00 p.m., but two of them were able to escape. Mr. Zhang's car, digital camera, several thousand dollars in cash, and some of the truth-clarification materials were taken by the police.

Ms. Su Yuying, in her late 60s, is a retired music teacher from an elementary school on Yihe Road, Zhongyuan District. She started practicing Falun Gong in 1996. She made several appeals to clarify the truth about Falun Gong and was persecuted many times. In 2000, she was monitored for a month. In 2004, Ms. Su was detained for over 20 days in the Zhongyuan District Police Station because she distributed truth-clarification materials. In 2005, she was held and persecuted in the Wanqingshanzhuang Brainwashing Center near Xiliu Lake for over 2 weeks. Ms. Su went out to clarify the truth on September 5, 2006, and has not returned home since that time. Her family later learned that she was unlawfully detained in the Zhongyuan District Detention Center. Ms. Su is currently held in the Zhengzhou City No. 2 Detention Center.

Officers from the Zhongyuan District National Security and 610 Office went to Ms. Su's house and ransacked it. They confiscated all her Dafa books, materials and Teacher's picture.

Ms. Suo Zhengming, 43, was a teacher at Chunchang Elementary School in Mawan. Before she started to practice Falun Gong, Ms. Suo had many diseases and her husband had left her. She later taught at Chunchang Elementary School. In 1998, she practiced Falun Gong and in a few months all her illnesses disappeared. To tell people the facts about Falun Gong, on May 7, 2006, Ms. Suo went to Kuiwenge in Dushan to distribute truth-clarification materials. A policeman caught her and took her to a detention center where she was persecuted. Ms. Suo has been transferred to Dushan Prison to do forced labor.

The following is additional information on three practitioners arrested on September 14, 2006, in Qinzhou and Maiji Districts, Tianshui City, Gansu Province. Ms. Dong Peilan's and Ms. Li Cuihong's husbands were both practitioners. Ms. Zhao Lanzhou and Mr. Wang Yongming are still unlawfully imprisoned in the Tianshui Third Prison. Ms. He Guiqin was released.

On the afternoon of September 12, 2006, an officer from the Kaiping Police Station in Tangshan, Hebei Province, arrested Ms. Chen Suxiang and took her to the police station. Ms. Chen's hands and ankles were shackled and she was tortured. Ms. Chen didn't reveal her name and address until September 13. While she was held in the Qianquzhuang Brigade, she never gave her name [Note: due to the CCP policy of implicating and pressuring practitioners' family members, fellow practitioners and work places, practitioners often refuse to give their names when they are arrested].
