(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Yang Jianpo has been on hunger strike since February 16, 2006. He is illegally imprisoned in the internal medicine department of the Jidong Jail. The guards force-fed him eight times each day to persecute him. Now, Mr. Yang has become critically ill. Only after his family members' urgent requests did the Jidong Jail allow Mr. Yang to meet with his family members. At that time Mr. Yang was pushed out by criminals on a cart. His eyes showed no expression. He was barely able to speak and was very thin.

Mr. Yang is 43 years old and lives in Langfang City. He studied martial arts before practicing Falun Dafa. He was very skilled at it and often fought with others. In 1998, Mr. Yang and his wife Ms. Nie Chunling started practicing Falun Dafa together. After practicing Falun Dafa, he became a good person who forbore and did not hit back when attacked, nor talk back when insulted. A family that was almost broken apart became reconciled because of their practice of Dafa. Mr. Yang's cultivation experience once brought tears to the majority of audience members at a Falun Dafa experience sharing conference in Langfang City. Mr. Yang's huge change after practicing was also widely known in the Langfang area. Ironically, Mr. Yang, whom nobody dared to cross before when he was a bad person, is now repeatedly persecuted as a good person.

In October 1999, Mr. and Mrs. Yang traveled to Beijing. For saying "Falun Dafa is good!" Mr. Yang was illegally sent to a forced labor camp and imprisoned in Wanzhuang Forced Labor Camp in Langfang City. He was physically abused and put onto the "Dead Person's Bed." Due to his firm belief, he was transferred to the notorious Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp, where they attempted to break his belief in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." In the hot summer, police handcuffed him and left him out under the sun for two and a half months without drinking water. Mr. Yang was exposed to the sun, wind and rain, and stung by insects, but he was not allowed to move. In addition, he was often sent to an interrogation chamber to be tortured late at night. Mr. Yang still did not yield. In July 2002, he walked out from there.

In March 2003, Mr. Yang was mercilessly beaten in a secret interrogation chamber in Fengrun by officials from Fengrun District, Tangshan City. They electric shocked him for three days and nights. During this type of torture, both hands are tied up with copper wire and then connected to electricity. The current can be adjusted and increased gradually. Ms. Guo Xiaohui was also tortured in the same way. Mr. An was electric-shocked for seven days and seven nights. His painful shouts spread very far. The guards used towels to fill Mr. An's mouth and continued to shock him. After one month, when someone saw Mr. An, his fingers were black and charred. While they shocked Mr. Yang, they also used leather shoes to twist his toes.

In May 2003, Mr. Yang broke out of the lockup once again.

On February 20, 2004, Mr. Yang was arrested by the Guangyang Police Station in Langfang City. On February 28, Mr. Yang was sent to the Kaiping District Forced Labor Camp in Tangshan City to be persecuted. His body weight was reduced from 200 lbs to 111 lbs. On June 8, upon his release he weighed about 89 lbs.

On February 6, 2006, when Mr. Yang and Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Cao Baoyu clarified the truth to some government officials, they were arrested. After they were tortured into critical condition, the Guangyang District 610 Office of Langfang City took both of them to the Guangyang District Hospital and continued to persecute them.

On the evening of April 27, Dafa practitioner Mr. Cao Baoyu was persecuted to death. The hospitals considered Mr. Yang critically ill and refused to accept him. Mr. Yang was illegally and secretly sentenced without any legal procedures. Now he is illegally imprisoned in the Jidong Hospital. Mr. Yang has been diagnosed with an electrolyte disorder, heart disease, lung function failure, and atrophy of the entire body.

What kind of willpower does it take to endure a 200-day hunger strike? How difficult and painful it must be when one struggles at the edge of life and death?
