We Must Believe in the Power of Righteous Thoughts

(Clearwisdom.net) I have recently discovered that among the practitioners with whom I keep in touch, although some of them read and study the Fa, they don't seem to study attentively. There is one practitioner who seems to do very well in validating the Fa, clarifying the truth to people, and saving sentient beings. He also has great compassion towards the people who are lost. However, he regards sending forth righteous thoughts as something dispensable. He said sometimes he is too busy and can not make the time, but more often than not he has doubts as to the effectiveness of righteous thoughts. I feel this is because he lacks understanding of the power of righteous thoughts.

If we do not calm our hearts when studying the Fa, and send forth righteous thoughts with rationality, we will be in serious trouble! The dark minions and rotten ghosts are watching us closely, and take advantage of our loopholes whenever they can.

Besides, we are Fa rectification Dafa disciples, our righteous thoughts definitely have an effect. Master told us early on,

"When disciples have ample righteous thoughts,

Master has the power to turn back the tide"

("The Master-Disciple Bond" from Hong Yin Volume II)

This is the absolute truth.

I recall when Master first bestowed the righteous thoughts verses on Dafa disciples. Initially I felt my righteous thoughts had good results. However, as time went by, gradually I began to lose concentration. My thoughts began to stray and drift all over the place. Sometimes I even forgot that I was sending forth righteous thoughts, and gradually felt that my righteous thoughts had no effect at all. I gradually felt my drive to send righteous thoughts weakened as time went by. Sometimes I slacked off altogether. Right at this stagnant juncture, the merciful Master gave me hints.

Once, in a dream, I saw that the sky was suddenly full of rolling dark clouds. People were frightened. On my right, in the sky a large and weird-looking beast appeared and swiftly swooped down towards a gigantic screen, which was falling from the sky. In this dire situation, my mother and my sister-in-law who are not practitioners knelt down on the ground with their hands together kowtowing and praying, imploring them to leave. However it had not the slightest effect. Standing just behind them and witnessing this scene, I thought of sending forth righteous thoughts. When I erected my palm and sent forth righteous thoughts, I saw a child close by also erect his palm and send forth righteous thoughts with me. The large beast that landed on the screen immediately vanished, and we kept sending righteous thoughts nonstop. The screen slowed its descent, until it stopped altogether. We then turned around and walked away. As we walked we looked up, and the skyline was divided by a line. On one side was crystal clear blue sky, the other was still rolling dark clouds. At this moment there was a voice telling us that the clear blue sky was cleansed by our righteous thoughts, and the other half was worked on by their ineffectual prayers. Since this hint from Master, I am now full of confidence in sending righteous thoughts.

My husband was jittery and restless every time he saw me studying the Fa, practicing the exercises or sending righteous thoughts. He would throw a fit and vehemently object. Unpleasant things seemed to keep cropping up one after another, making me unable to feel at ease when practicing the exercises. When I was meditating the pain in my legs disturbed me, and when I was studying the Fa I could not concentrate. I enlightened that this was all the old forces' doing. I am a Dafa disciple during Fa rectification, I shouldn't accept this interference. So I used righteous thoughts to eliminate them. Immediate results were achieved every time.

I wrote this article to remind those who are not paying enough attention to sending forth righteous thoughts. Let us together follow Master's words:

"You should focus your attention and your effort, your mind has to be absolutely clear and rational, the force of your thoughts needs to be focused and strong, with an air of supremacy and of destroying all evil in the cosmos." ("Righteous Thoughts")
