Kind Hearted Cheng Hanxiang, A Villager in Liaoning Province, Is Repeatedly Detained

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Cheng Hanxiang, in his 50s, is a resident of Baozhangzi Village of Guzhangzi Township, Jianchang County, Huludao City, Liaoning Province. He is a tall, strong and honest man. Before he started practicing Falun Gong, he suffered from heart disease and high blood pressure. He had to take medicine and have injections all year long, and was not able to do very laborious jobs. But once he began the practice of Falun Gong, his blood pressure became normal and his heart disease disappeared as well. He became a healthy person and was able to do many laborious and tiring jobs in the fields. Seeing such big changes, his family and neighbors were all very happy for him. With a healthy body, Mr. Cheng was willing to help others as well.

The road between Wafangzi Village and Baozhangzi Village was in need of maintenance and no one had laid any sand or dirt on it for a long time. The flat road had become uneven, with many potholes and pits. When it rained, there was water and mud pits all over the road. It really caused a lot of inconvenience to people. In his spare time, Mr. Cheng transported the sand and dirt using his three-wheeler and repaired the road. He did this every year. Wherever he goes, he is always willing to help others, and people all know that he is a really good man.

He also used his own savings to help support poor students and orphans.

It was really amazing that Mr. Cheng, a Falun Gong practitioner who lives in a poor village, can do so many good deeds for others. However, in June 2004, village head Bao Ruifang and the party secretary of the village Wang Fengliang, along with the police from Guzhangzi Township Police Station, arrested Mr. Cheng and detained him in the detention center, because he practices Falun Gong. Later, he was sent to the Huluao Labor Camp and has been detained there now for more than two years. That was the fourth time that Mr. Cheng had been detained. His family is in debt due to his being repeatedly detained and now it is getting ever worse for them. His wife and two young daughters are now living a hard life.
