A Child Alone During Mid-Autumn Festival When Other Families Get Together

(Clearwisdom.net) The Mid-Autumn Festival is a time for family reunions. I know of a child named Liangliang, whose father, a Falun Gong practitioner, was illegally sentenced to a seven-year prison term on August 16, 2006. Liangliang is all now left at home alone. Who does he reunite with?

I am one of the many people who has been helped by Liangliang's father. We all feel so sorry for the child. Let us find a way to help him.

Liangliang's father is a rural doctor. He had hepatitis, which turned into liver ascites [fluid in the liver]. It was a terminal disease.

A relative sent him a copy of Zhuan Falun. He began to read this book and as he was reading, his condition disappeared. He experienced the magic of Falun Dafa. He practices and studies the Fa and follows the Fa principles. People in the area where he lives are very poor. Some could not afford medication, so he did not charge for it. In this way he managed to benefit almost all of the villagers. They all knew him to be a nice person. He also spread the beauty of Falun Dafa to his friends and relatives. As a result, many people learned the practice and started to cultivate.

On July 20, 1997, when Jiang Zemin's regime started to persecute Falun Gong, his family was frequently persecuted. When he went to Beijing on July 20 to appeal for Falun Gong, he did not take any money with him. Someone else bought him the ticket. On July 21, police from the Beijing Police Station escorted him back. He was brutally beaten and had to undergo a body search. They found only 10 cents. They yelled, "You do not even have money for food. How dare you go to Beijing?" Then they asked if he would continue to practice. He replied firmly, "Yes." Therefore, he was taken illegally to a paramilitary base for 10 months of persecution. He almost died from the beatings. Forty days after a series of beatings, he still could not walk properly. When he was asked by the police if he would continue to practice Falun Gong, he said, "Why not!" He continued to recite the Fa and talk about the truth to the inmates. Nine months later, he walked out of that hellish place.

However, a few weeks after he returned home, on December 23, 2000, he was arrested and taken to a brainwashing center. He was forced to run, crawl, squat, walk while squatting and run with sandbags on his back ¡V all with insufficient nourishment. As a result of this continuous torture, his health deteriorated rapidly. He would be called into a torture room to be beaten. However brutal the abuses, he never stopped talking to people at the brainwashing center about the truth and writing articles to expose the persecution.

With continuous escalations of the persecution and the persecution policy of implication, his wife could not handle the pain and the pressure, and decided to divorce him, leaving him the child. But the child could only live with his grandparents, with his father arrested every so often.

During the nine months Liangliang's father spent at the brainwashing center, his liver problem recurred. He lost his appetite and his complexion became jaundiced. He lost a lot of weight and could not walk steadily. The police took him to the hospital for a checkup. The doctor said that he had severe liver problems and that it was contagious. Both the doctors and the head of the 610 Office said that he would die within a month. The staff at the brainwashing center sent him home right away.

After getting home, his relatives prepared for his funeral. However, with faith in Falun Dafa and Teacher a miracle happened. As soon as he recovered a little, he distributed truth materials and persuaded people to withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party (CPP) and its affiliated organizations. He went out wherever there were people. Although sometimes he was insulted and sworn at, he persisted in doing what a practitioner should do to save people.

One day on December 2005, when he was distributing truth materials, someone told the police and he was again arrested. On August 16, 2006, he was illegally sentenced to a seven-year term.

His parents, having endured long and unrelenting pressure and police harassment related to the persecution of their son, passed away in great stress and grief. One died in 2002 and the other passed away in 2003.

Now Liangliang is all alone, with no one to look after him. He can only stay temporarily with his relatives. Sometimes he has to endure insults and contempt from people. But Liangliang is very strong. He studies hard and does well in school. He is waiting for his father to come home. He was hoping that he could visit his father during the Mid-Autumn Festival, but the police moved his father to a prison far from where Liangliang lives. He does not know when he can see his father again.

I would like to appeal on behalf of little Liangliang and his deceased grandparents to international human rights organizations, the world's governments and all people to pay attention to this matter. Please help Liangliang and tens of thousands of children like him in China. Please save their parents and relatives, and help to put an end to this persecution.
