Regarding Validating Oneself

(Clearwisdom.net) Selfishness is a fundamental reason why beings in the old cosmos are heading towards destruction. Every practitioner has deep seated roots of selfishness, which must be eliminated.

When the old cosmos was created, selfishness was the basis. Therefore, no beings in the old cosmos could realize that selfishness was a problem. Only in front of Teacher, and in front of Dafa, can selfishness be exposed. Under the guidance of the Fa, Dafa disciples are able to look at themselves and cultivate away the fundamental attributes of selfishness, and ultimately become enlightened beings in the righteous Fa. In contrast, the old forces still embrace selfishness as a basis, and ultimately head towards destruction because of it. Teacher does not acknowledge the old forces' arrangements, and asks Dafa practitioners also to deny all the old forces' arrangements. I have two understandings on this. First, for any being in the old cosmos, only unconditionally forsaking oneself and totally and strictly acting according to the requirements of Teacher and the Fa-rectification to harmonize Dafa is the most compassionate. Secondly, all arrangements of the old forces are based on selfishness, and for the purpose of self preservation to the greatest extent. They point their fingers at Fa-rectification and the beings to be saved (including Dafa disciples) by Teacher, and only see the shortcomings of others, but do not examine themselves.

During the Fa-rectification in the cosmos, as the old forces head towards destruction, every Dafa disciple must clearly recognize the problem of selfishness. Whoever can walk well on the path of cultivation while assisting Teacher in Fa-rectification, and forsake selfishness to the greatest extent, is laying an everlasting and indestructible foundation for his or her future.

As beings from the selfish old cosmos, during the current cultivation while assisting Teacher in Fa rectification, it is inevitable that we may sometimes unwittingly validate ourselves instead of validating the Fa. We must pay special attention to this; otherwise it may lead to self-destruction, just like the old forces. Only by validating the Fa can one validate oneself. No matter whether it is knowingly or unwittingly, when a practitioner tries to prove himself or show off while validating Dafa, he can never validate the Fa. Instead, he is using Dafa to validate himself, which is a sin in and of itself, and is most disrespectful to Teacher. The old forces' downfall is because of this.

Genuine Dafa disciples are able to forsake themselves as much as possible, constantly put aside themselves in the Fa, and even completely, and selflessly validate Dafa. Only these Dafa practitioners are mature, and only they are the Dafa disciples forged by Teacher. Only then does a Dafa practitioner truly validate oneself. Selflessness is the true essence of a Dafa disciple.
