We Must Rectify Ourselves to Improve Our Cultivation Environment

(Clearwisdom.net) Our current cultivation environment has become a little calmer owing to a large number of evil elements having been eradicated in other dimensions. I came to the understanding that we need to be even stricter with ourselves and rectify our behavior in this type of environment. In this way, our truth clarification will be more effective and our cultivation environment will improve.

When fellow practitioners get together, they often reminisce about the environment before the persecution started in 1999. During those times, we all did the Falun Gong exercises and studied the Fa together every day. When a problem arose, we would share our experiences and learn from group discussion. In that type of environment, our xinxing levels continuously rose. After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began the brutal persecution of Dafa and Dafa practitioners, however, we lost the cultivation environment we had in the past. Practitioners who firmly believe in Dafa and Teacher continued to cultivate diligently and clarify the truth to save sentient beings.

Since I began practicing Falun Gong, I have followed the requirements of the Fa to guide my behavior. I stopped wasting time playing Mahjong and having drinks with my classmates or friends. I treated people around me sincerely. When others encounter difficulties, I do not hesitate to help them. I always think of others first when a problem arises. When I talk with my colleagues, I often tell them about Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. After a while, my behavior quietly influenced the people around me.

There are two teachers at my workplace that I have a good relationship with. Both of them have a short temper and often argue with their husbands at home. We often talk about our families and other trivial matters. Sometimes I will tell them my views on certain matters. I also gave them Dafa books to read. Although they haven't started practicing Dafa, they have changed their bad temperament and do not quarrel with their husbands as often. One of them told me, "I wanted to curse at my husband yesterday, but after I thought about how you would behave in that situation, and I stopped myself from doing it." I was very glad to hear that.

One day, teacher Zhao came to my office to tell me, "On my way here, I saw a bundle of firewood lying in the middle of the road. In the past, I would have just driven around it and kept going. But this time, I stopped and moved the bundle of wood to the side of the road. I think I have just done a good deed." After hearing this, I felt very happy for her. It was the power of Dafa that changed my fellow colleagues’ attitudes!

Every word and action of Dafa disciples are very important. People around us are always observing us. They will see and hear whatever we say and do, whether they are good or bad. If we have done something wrong, they'll say that we are Dafa practitioners and that we are not good people.

We need to be strict with ourselves and rectify ourselves. If we act according to the requirements of the Fa and always treat others with kindness, people around us will gradually be convinced that Dafa is great. When I clarify the truth to people around me, most of them will sincerely listen to what I have to say and the results are usually good. As Teacher said,

Being Dafa practitioners, we need to constantly correct ourselves and eliminate our remaining negative elements. As a result, our surrounding environments will gradually become righteous.
