The Police Saluted Me with Two Hands Pressed Together

(Clearwisdom.net) In the early fall of 2003 it rained heavily for two days. Since the area where I live is situated in a low lying area, the entire first floor of two residential buildings in my area filled with water. The water had even soaked the furniture. It was very hot. I thought to myself, "I am a Dafa practitioner. I must be one of the first to help." I consulted with others and learned that I might use a water pump to drain the water. I went home to get some cash, but my family had only 400 yuan left. I then went to borrow money from a neighbor. The neighbor was very supportive after learning that the money would be used to drain the water. When the new pump was installed, everybody was extremely happy and asked where the pump had come from. Someone told them the truth, and everyone commented on what I had done. They wanted to collect money to reimburse me for the cost of the pump, but I said that I would not take it. As Falun Gong practitioners we should think of others first. That night my state of mind was extremely good when I did the exercises. I realized that it was Teacher strengthening me!

The next day it was still raining. That day, the city sent some people to check on our situation. The residents told them that it was the Falun Gong practitioner on the fourth floor in the back building who had bought the water pump and used it till very late before going home. They also said that people who practice Falun Gong are really good. When they heard this, the cadres made no reply. In the evening, over a dozen police officers came to the apartment building. They asked if so-and-so who practiced Falun Gong was nearby. I guessed that they must have received some malicious order. The residents told them that I endeavored to help others by carrying the water back and forth and that I would not accept money in return. Due to the flooding, those who lived on the first floor had not been able to sleep well for several days. Two days later, when the police saw me, they became very animated. They saluted me by bowing with their palms together.

On April 28, 2006, a county police station received an order that each official must detain one Falun Gong practitioner before May 13. Before they announced this order, news of the order had prematurely spread throughout the station.

On hearing the news, a temporary employee at the station could not stand for such an action and requested a half month-long vacation. After his request was approved, he asked the station chief whether the news was true. The chief told him, "What you did is right. Do not do this. First, you are not a formal police officer. Second, there are so many Falun Gong practitioners around your home. If you carried out this order, you might offend many people." He asked the chief, "What are you going to do?" The chief said, "I will open one eye and close the other. When the time comes, I will say I have not seen anything. The area that I am in charge of does not have Falun Gong. They have not committed any misconduct and they have not practiced in our local police station. Why should I be bothered with this."

A few days ago, this temporary employee told his fellow soldier, who is a Falun Gong practitioner, the news of this order. The practitioner realized that the employee still had a human conscience and clarified the truth to him. The employee requested to withdraw from the Communist Party right after he understood the truth.
