Taiwan: Government Information Office Issues a News Release Urging the CCP to Stop Harvesting Organs from Falun Gong Practitioners
(Clearwisdom.net) On October 17, to let more of the world's media,
especially the Taiwanese media, know about the human rights situation in
Mainland China, the Taiwan Government Information Office issued a news release
requesting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to stop harvesting organs from
living Falun Gong practitioners. The Office also posted the link to the Canadian
investigation report, "Report into Allegations of Organ Harvesting of Falun
Gong Practitioners in China." Kilgour and Matas conducted a 2-month independent investigation after
receiving a request from the Committee to Investigate the Persecution of Falun
Gong (CIPFG) last May. They released their report on July 6, 2006. Since then,
they have traveled to many countries around the world to collect support from
government officials and various organizations to stop the atrocities. More information about the report, "Report into Allegations of Organ
Harvesting of Falun Gong Practitioners in China" is available at
www.organharvestinvestigation.net.
The article said that on October 13 the Office Minister, Mr. Wen-tsang Cheng,
met with former Canadian MP David Kilgour and renowned human rights lawyer David
Matas. During the meeting, Minister Cheng said that the CCP's grave human rights
violation is well-known and Taiwan is very concerned about human rights on the
Mainland. He said, "People can go to sleep, however, human conscience
cannot sleep." Facing the atrocities of organ harvesting, he said that the
world must pay much more attention. Minister Cheng demanded the CCP to stop the
organ harvesting and hoped that the media around the world will all focus on the
CCP's human rights violation.
