The Situation of Practitioners Mr. Zhao Longzhi and His Wife Ms. Luo Na in Tibet Remains Unknown After Eight Months in Police Custody

(Clearwisdom.net) Tibetan Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. Zhao Longzhi and his wife Ms. Luo Na were illegally arrested by local police officers and members of the 610 Office on January 31, 2006 (the third day in the first Chinese lunar month). The officers also searched their home. No information is currently available on the couple.

Practitioners Mr. Zhao and his wife Ms. Luo were Falun Gong assistants before the persecution started on July 20, 1999. They gave their all to help spread the Fa to Lhasa, the capital city of Tibet. After July 20, 1999, they headed out on a journey of thousands of miles to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. Ms. Luo Na suffered from severe nausea while riding the bus, and eventually on the night when they reached her hometown, they were caught by a group of officers from the Tibetan Police Department who had followed them. The police stopped them, and two days later took the couple back to their work unit, where the couple was placed under surveillance.

In 2000, Mr. Zhao and Ms. Luo went to Beijing again to make a statement that Falun Dafa is good. They were arrested and beaten in Tiananmen Square. After being sent back to Tibet, they were sentenced to two years of forced labor and held in the Lhasa Forced Labor Camp.

In 2002, when the forced labor terms ended, the labor camp authorities held them in custody for fifteen extra days, as they refused to write "guarantee statements" promising to quit practicing Falun Gong. In the end, the Najin Electric Factory took them back and placed them under strict surveillance and deprived them of time away from work. Later, Ms. Luo was pregnant and wanted to deliver the baby in mainland China. She was not granted leave to visit her parents until 2003.

On January 31, 2003, the third day of the Chinese lunar new year, local police officers and members of the 610 Office became suspicious that Mr. Zhao and Ms. Luo were distributing truth-clarifying materials. The officers searched the couple's home and took them into custody. No family visit has been granted. It has been reported that Mr. Zhao Longzhi and Ms. Luo Na were unlawfully held in the Lhasa City Detention Center. Police officers in charge of the case claimed that the paperwork has reached the courts.

More detailed information regarding the couple is not available. They have almost no family members living in Lhasa.

Because of the special geographical location and inconvenience in travel, there are very few local practitioners in the area. We hope fellow practitioners can use letters, telephone calls or other methods to reach out to people from all walks of life in Tibet and clarify the truth. Let's all send forth righteous thoughts, disintegrate all the evil factors that persecute Falun Dafa practitioners, and strengthen the two practitioners with righteous thoughts to help them return home as early as possible.
