Non-Practitioner Witness: How the Chinese Communist Party Persecuted Falun Dafa Practitioners

(Clearwisdom.net) I am from Leting County, Tangshan City, Hebei Province. Because I led villagers to protest the Chinese Communist Party's heavy and unreasonable taxes, I was sentenced to one year in prison. The authorities said my crime was "jeopardizing public affairs."

On my first day in jail, I was put in a section with Falun Gong practitioners, and I ended up spending my whole year of incarceration with them. I was astonished to discover that they were so kind and nice, and at the same time their willpower was so strong and they were so persistent in their belief in the truth.

What was most unforgettable for me at that time were those eighteen practitioners who were illegally arrested at Tiananmen Square in Beijing. That was in December 2000. They were brought to Leting County and had not had food for more than ten days, yet they still persisted in refusing meals. They said, "We didn't commit any crime. We don't eat meals in jail. We demand our immediate release!" Some of these female practitioners had gone without food for seventeen to eighteen days. The interrogator wanted to know where they came from, but they refused to say, so they were severely beaten.

One practitioner from Changli County was burned on the back of her hands by a police officer with a heated steel rod. The backs of her hands were burned so severely that they appeared cooked. The pain was so unbearable that she did not sleep a wink all night. The next day she was transferred to another facility. A female practitioner from Heilongjiang Province was deliberately soaked, first on her neck with cold water and then with hot water during her period. On top of that, she was made to sit on an iron rod. A sixty year-old practitioner from Sichuan Province was ordered to stand on the concrete floor without shoes on, and another lady was made to kneel on a heater, burning her knees so severely that the flesh turned dark brown. It was extremely terrible. I couldn't bear to see it all. Face slapping was not unusual. Four practitioners from Leting County were exceptional. Under this horrendous torture--one practitioner's head was badly shaken, and they were still doing the Falun Gong exercises every day. Later they were roped, with their hands tied and handcuffed and their feet shackled, and then paraded on the streets of Leting. Regardless of this unconscionable treatment, they were still continuously shouting, "Falun Dafa is good! Falun Dafa is righteous!" They were just so great and courageous that we were all moved to tears.

Everyone must realize that they are a group of good people and care for others without hate. They taught us a lot about "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance," and inspired us to be a good people. This society is turning things upside down and bad people are everywhere.

Today I am taking a certain amount of risk in exposing these crimes, I am complaining and calling for righteous redress for these kindhearted people. I am calling on the good people in society to bring the evil to justice and to put an end to this.
