A practitioner in Changchun City, Jilin Province

In May 1994, I was very fortunate to attend the 7^th 10-day lecture given by Teacher in Changchun City. I remember Teacher asked us to consider ourselves as genuine practitioners.

After that, I began doing the exercises outdoors in the morning. I heard the practice site was selected by Teacher. Later, we started a group-study there. Every practitioner there experienced dramatic changes, with improvements in both mind and body. We studied and recited the Fa together. In this way, we had a much better understanding of the Fa. Although that period of time did not last long, it established a solid foundation for me.

After the persecution started in July 1999, I thought the central government did not know what Falun Gong is. With this simple thought, I went to the appeals office in Beijing to clarify this. After arriving there, however, there was no opportunity to speak. After identifying where I came from, the police sent me back to the local detention center. After being released, I thought: isn't it wrong that things are like this?

After three months, I went to Beijing again. Still having no place to appeal, we unfurled a banner reading "Falun Dafa is good." Several policemen came up immediately, and I was taken to the Tiananmen Police Station. Local police came, took me back, and put me in a detention center. After I was released, my employer terminated my job.

I could not accept unemployment, so I went to the related government agencies. I went to both the provincial and city appeals offices. I was then referred to the district office center, where officials again referred me to the street official. Wherever I went, I clarified the truth, telling them we were unfairly treated and severely persecuted.

Later, my employer finally fired me. Soon after that, a practitioner introduced me to work in a clothing factory. After several days, the street official wanted to send me to a brainwashing center. I said to them, "I will continue practicing Falun Dafa! Nobody can stop this!" Later, a district official called me on the phone and threatened me: "If you do not yield, I will go to your workplace to find you. If your workplace knows this, they may fire you." I replied, "They know I am a Falun Gong practitioner, and they like me working there." Then I said, "Each person has his or her own will and faith. Please do not force your ideology on me! I know best whether Falun Gong is good or not. If Falun Gong were not good, I would have stopped practicing a long time ago. You cannot change my belief, and please do not call me any more." Then I put down the phone.

Finally, the police station head called me. I told him that I had lost my job because of the persecution, and eventually found a job in the clothing factory. The work flow in the factory could not be stopped, so I could not leave there. I also needed this job for a living and to support my child. Upon hearing that, he asked if my family was all right. I told him, "The street official asked my husband to divorce me, but he did not agree." He then said, "All right, you can continue with your work and you do not need to attend the brainwashing class." From then on, the street officials and the police seldom bothered me.

In 2001, we launched an informational materials production site. Once every two weeks, several practitioners at a time spent the weekend distributing truth-clarification materials to thousands of families. We have been doing that ever since.

Teacher said that, "...each must come out and clarify the truth, bringing it to every field and valley, mountain and hill, not omitting a single area where there are people." ("Let Go of Human Attachments and Save the World's People")

I thought that, after distributing a great number of truth-clarification materials in the city, we needed to go to the countryside and bring the truth to them.

Traveling around in the countryside is much different from the city. Every time, we take the train or bus, arriving there at night and returning in the morning. We distribute the materials to every family and hang up banners along all the major roads.

After operating for more than one year, the materials production site had some problems. We did not notice them in time or look within. The evil took advantage of it and arrested many practitioners, who revealed my name after severe torture. After coming back from work, I found the police were there waiting for me. They then took me to the police station.

The police started to interrogate me, and I did not yield. They found keys in my bag, and went to my home to search it. They found some truth-clarification materials and asked where I obtained them. I said someone slipped them in under the door. They told me to confess, otherwise I would be sorry. I sent forth righteous thoughts toward them, and very soon they experienced headaches and could no longer bear it. They sent me to the detention center and the official there asked if I had any illnesses. I said the reason I had started to practice Falun Gong was because I had heart disease. The officer-on-duty then said heart disease had to be examined in the hospital and thus refused to accept me. The police spent the entire day there, and the detention center still would not accept me. They had no choice but to release me after 8 p.m. on that day.

Not long after that, someone called me from a strange number, and I did not answer. Then, someone came to knock on the door. It was so loud that the entire building could hear it. I did not open the door, and went to my mother-in-law's place the next day. The police then asked my husband about my whereabouts, and he asked them why. They said I was involved in operating a materials production site, and also financially supported it. My husband was very upset: "You asked her to meet you in the police station, then sentenced her for one year. I do not know what went wrong, but how come you disturb our family so much? I have to leave my wife at a relatives' place. Because of you, my home is now upside down. Exactly what do you want? My wife did nothing illegal. She is already a model worker, and you just fired her for no reason. It is bad for you CCP if things continue like this!" Upon hearing that, their tone changed: "Since your case is special, we will stop here if you pay 2,000 yuan." My husband asked, "What is this? We have no money!" The police head said, "If you do not listen to me, I will arrest your wife." So my husband went to the city Police Department. He went there twice, but nobody wanted to meet him. My husband went there again and said, "The police asked me to come here. I do not know the reason, probably because my wife practices Falun Gong. I have come here three times, and will not come again if nobody wants to meet me." So, things just ended there.

From this I realized that Dafa disciples' righteous thoughts are powerful, whether you can feel it or not. I also realized the importance of Fa-study. We know that Teacher is compassionately caring for us at every step. It is just like "When disciples have ample righteous thoughts, Master has the power to turn back the tide." (Hong Yin-II)

With the massive elimination of evil in other dimensions, more and more people are waking up. Truth-clarification has become relatively easier than before. On the other hand, what the Fa requires of us becomes higher and higher. I will be stricter with myself, and let go of my fundamental attachments. I will walk my path better in the future, and keep up with the Fa-rectification momentum.
