(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Zhao Xifa is from Qiujiazhuang Village, Wubei Town, Laixi Ciy, Shandong Province. He is in critical condition due to persecution at Jinan Prison. Around October 1, 2006, officers from the Wubei Town Police Station called Liu Xianzhong, the party secretary of Qiujiazhuang Village, and asked him to inform Zhao Xifa's family that Mr. Zhao was critically ill and they could take him home a couple of days later. When the October 1 long weekend had passed, Mr. Zhao's family members went to the Wubei Town Police Station and asked to take him home. However, the officers denied that they had made that call. When Mr. Zhao's family questioned Liu Xianzhong, he said that he did not know who made that call and the phone number had been deleted.

On the night of March 19, 2006, police officers from Wubei Town Police Station waited for sixty-year-old practitioner Mr. Zhao Xifa and arrested him on his way home. At around 1:00 a.m. that night, the police searched his home. At that time, his wife had gone to bed. When the police suddenly broke in, she was so scared that she collapsed. Mr. Zhao was sent to Laixi Prison and was tortured both physically and mentally for two months. He was sentenced to seven years of imprisonment in an illegally held court session on May 13, 2006. At that time, Mr. Zhao was in very bad shape. His whole body was swollen. He was diagnosed with leukemia, a kidney tumor, enteritis and other illnesses. On June 28, 2006, Mr. Zhao was severely ill and was transferred to the Jinan Prison and persecuted there.
