1. [Wuhan, Hubei Province] Practitioner Zhang Yuying Arrested
On the evening of November 22, 2006, Ms. Zhang Yuying was arrested by the police. Ms. Zhang is a retired school doctor at Thirty Ninth Middle School of Wuhan City. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
2. [Songyuan, Jilin Province] The Persecution of Practitioner Ms. Jiang Qi
At around 7:00 a.m. on November 22, 2006, Ms. Jiang Qi from Jilatu Township, Qianguo County, was having breakfast at home. Suddenly, seven or eight policemen broke into her home and arrested her. They also took away a picture of Teacher Li Hongzhi. The incident caused Ms. Jiang to suffer a heart attack and lose consciousness. The policemen, however, still took her away in spite of her condition.
At around 8:00 a.m. on November 23, 2006, her family went to the police station to request her immediate release. Later in the evening, Ms. Jiang was released.

4. [Changchun, Jilin Province] Practitioner Ms. Wang Xiangzhen Arrested
On November 21, 2006, officers from the Sandao Town Police Station in the Erdao District of Changchun City ransacked Ms. Wang Xiangzhen's home. They arrested her and took her to the Erdao District Police Department Precinct. Ms. Wang's medical examination showed that she had severe heart disease and could die at any moment. The police had to release her.
When the policemen ransacked Ms. Wang's home, they took a copy of Zhuan Falun and some truth-clarification materials.
5. [Changchun, Jilin Province] Practitioner Ms. Bai Ciqing and Others Arrested
Around November 17, 2006, practitioner Ms. Bai Ciqing told her neighbor the facts about Falun Gong and gave her a VCD. Her neighbor, however, reported her to the police. Four people were arrested, including Ms. Bai, another practitioner, and two people who are not practitioners but know the truth about Falun Gong. Their current whereabouts are unknown.

7. [Jilin Province] Practitioner Ms. Sun Lihong Was Tortured in the Women's Prison
Ms. Sun Lihong, more than 40 years old, is from Jiaohe City, Jilin Province. Because she refused to renounce her belief in Falun Gong, the Women's Prison of Jilin Province tortured her using the "Big Hang Up" [There are two forms in this torture: (1) With both hands cuffed behind the back and only toes touching the ground, the victim is hung by a rope that is tied to a window frame; (2) One hand of the victim is cuffed to one bunk bed, the other hand to another bed, and the two beds are pulled in opposite directions. It is extremely painful as the body is pulled.] The guards also added an extra quilt on her to make the torture more unbearable.
8. [Beijing] Practitioner Ms. Hao Ping Arrested
On November 3, 2006, the police arrested Mr. Hao Ping while he was at work. His current whereabouts is unknown.
Mr. Hao's wife, Ms. Yu, was arrested on April 22, 2005, and was sentenced to five years in prison. Ms. Yu is currently detained in the Women's Prison in Daxing District.
Their six-year-old daughter Huihui is in the first grade. Now that both of her parents have been arrested, there is no one to take care of her.

11. [Yantai, Shandong Province] Practitioner Gong Qingmei and Others Sentenced to Forced Labor Camp
Recently, the police from the 610 Office of Xixia City, Yantai City, Shandong Province sent four practitioners to forced labor camps. Ms. Gong Qingmei, in her 50's, was sentenced to a year and a half of forced labor. Ms. Fan Huilan from Fanjiagou Village, Ms. Shi (around 30 years old) from Shijiazhuang Village, and 56-year-old Mr. Jiang Shibo from Xiaozhuang Village were each sentenced to one year of forced labor.
12. [Tianjin City] Practitioners Mr. Ren Dongsheng, Ms. Xu Yufeng, and Others Arrested
In June 2006, Mr. Ren Dongsheng, Ms. Xu Yufeng, and three other practitioners from Jinghai County, Tianjin City, were arrested when they went to some villages to distribute truth-clarification materials. Although it has been eight months since their arrest, their families are still not allowed to visit them. In late September, they were secretly sentenced. Mr. Ren Dongsheng was sentenced to five years in prison, and Ms. Xu Yufeng to three and a half years in prison. Detailed information on the other three practitioners is not known.

13. [Taiyuan, Shanxi Province] Practitioner Ms. Zhang Yan Arrested and Her Home Ransacked
At around 11:00 a.m. on November 24, 2006, practitioner Ms. Zhang Yan was arrested and her home ransacked. Her Falun Gong books, truth clarification-materials, CDs, and a computer and printer were confiscated. A key to another truth-clarification materials production site was also taken away. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
14. [Yongji, Jilin Province] Practitioner Mr. Li Lixin's Home Ransacked
On June 15, 2006, Yu Guotao led Zhang Bo from the Politics and Law Committee of Yongji County and Liu Qi, director of the 610 Office of Yongji County, to Mr. Li Lixin's home in Xiaosanjiazi Township, Yongji County. Zhang Bo and Liu Qi unlawfully searched Mr. Li's home and confiscated five Falun Gong books and some truth-clarification materials.

15. [Zhejiang Province] Practitioners Ms. Tang Baozhi and Ms. Chen Yao Imprisoned
Practitioner Ms. Tang Baozhi is detained in the Women's Prison of Zhejiang Province. She was sentenced to three and a half years. Practitioners Ms. Chen Yao and Ms. Tang Baozhi's daughter are also detained in the same prison.

16. [Xinyu, Jiangxi Province] Practitioner Ms. Li Suren Arrested
On July 7, 2006, the National Security Team of Xinyu City arrested practitioner Ms. Li Suren again. Her trial at the Yushui District Court in Xinyu City was scheduled for November 28, 2006.

17. [Baoji, Shanxi Province] Practitioner Ms. Sha Yulian Has Been Persecuted For a Long Time
Agents of the State Security and the 610 Office of Baoji City have harassed Ms. Sha Yulian for a long time. Recently, Ms. Sha was secretly sentenced.
18. [Tianshui, Gansu Province] The Persecution of Practitioner Zhang Run's Family
Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Zhang Run, his wife Wang Meiying, and daughter Zhang Xiaoe live in Tianshui City, Gansu Province. In 2001, Ms. Zhang Xiaoe was sentenced to two years in a forced labor camp because she distributed truth-clarification materials. She was detained in the Second Women's Forced Labor Camp of the Anning District, Lanzhou City. Her term was illegally extended for another six months because she destroyed some pictures that slandered Falun Gong and its founder. Police officer Ma Xiaowu of Zhang Chuan County frequently harasses Mr. Zhang's wife. In 2004, Mr. Zhang Run was sentenced to three and a half years of forced labor.
Mr. Zhang and his wife have been fined 25,000 yuan because they continue to practice Falun Gong.
19. [Huaibin, Henan Province] Practitioner Mr. Zhou Junhua and a Dozen Other Practitioners Arrested
On November 17, 2006, members of the 610 Office and Police Department of Huaibin County, Henan Province, went to Gudui Township and arrested Mr. Zhou Jun and a dozen other practitioners. The practitioners were also illegally fined.

20. [Beiliu, Guangxi Province] Practitioner Ms. Fu Zhiying Arrested
In October 2006, practitioner Ms. Fu Zhiying was arrested. She is currently detained in a detention center in Beiliu City.
21. [Sichuan Province] Practitioner Ms. Chen Hongai Persecuted in Yangmahe Prison
Ms. Chen Hongai, in her 60's, lives in Leshan City, Sichuan Province. While imprisoned in Yangmahe Prison, she was continuously forced-fed. Everyday, six inmates were assigned to monitor and torture her. Prison guards sealed her mouth with tape when she sang "Falun Dafa is Good." She was later diagnosed with cancer and has been in the hospital for seven months.
22. [Gansu Province] The Persecution of Practitioners in the Women's Prison of Gansu Province
In order to try to force practitioners to renounce their belief in Falun Gong, the guards at the Women's Prison of Gansu Province instigate inmates to closely monitor practitioners 24 hours a day. Each practitioner is monitored by two "personal cangues" [Cangue, originally the name of a torture instrument in China that consists of a heavy wooden collar enclosing neck and arms and was used on petty criminals. This term now refers to a person designated to supervise the behavior of practitioners] who often curse practitioners with vile words. Practitioners are not allowed to talk to each other and are forced to write a monthly report of their thoughts. They are also forced to sit on small benches and watch TV programs that slander Falun Gong for more than ten hours a day. Steadfast practitioners are placed in confinement and handcuffed to pipes so that they can't sit down or lay down to sleep. As a result, many practitioners suffer from excruciating pain and edema all over their bodies.
