Getting Rid of Ordinary People's "Qing"

(Clearwisdom.net) I have been encumbered by ordinary people's qing for many years, especially when it comes to the love between a wife and husband, which makes me feel very tired. Master says,

"Those who are attached to affection for family will definitely be burned, entangled, and tormented by it. Pulled by the threads of affection and plagued by them throughout their lives, they will find it too late to regret at the end of their lives."(Essentials for Further Advancement)

I am a Falun Gong practitioner now. Can I be considered a cultivator if I am still attached to this? I decided to get rid of it. It has indeed been very difficult, and Teacher has seen this in me.

One day, when I was preparing a meal, I was walking down the stairs and lost my balance. I fell towards the stove, and at that time, the green onion was cooking in the frying pan. As a result, the pot and the spoon were catapulted into the air and hit to the wall, causing hot oil to pour all over me. However, I was not burned. I thought about it with a calm mind and understood that it was Master who protected me.

I looked back and saw that my husband was standing less than one meter away from me. He was supposed to help me up, but he did nothing when he saw me. I think that Master was helping me get rid of the attachment to qing. I would not have held a grudge against an ordinary person even if he didn't help me, but I shed tears of gratitude for Master's benevolence.

After enlightening to Master's lesson, I started taking qing lightly. But it is not that I don't care about my family members. Instead, I treat them with a benevolent and peaceful heart.
