Recalling the Days When Master Li Gave Lectures in Wuhan

(Clearwisdom.net) In October 1993, I was fortunate to attend the 5th Falun Gong seminar given by Teacher in Wuhan City, Hubei Province.

As Teacher told us in "Enlightenment" in Essentials for Further Advancement:

"When he teaches the Fa, evil practices are bound to interfere. The Dao and the demonic ways are taught at the same time and in the same world. Amidst truth and falsehood, enlightening is important."

Fifty yards away from the auditorium, there was another seminar hosted by a fake Qigong master. It was a test to see which door we were going to enter.

During the first lecture, I was deeply attracted by Teacher's profound Fa, but at that time, I still had a lot of ordinary people's thoughts. I thought "Wow, the Teacher is so knowledgeable!" When I recall this, I am embarrassed to have had such low-level understandings.

From the second and third day on, Teacher began to purify our bodies. There were noises of coughs in the auditorium one after another. A fellow practitioner with his celestial eye open said there was lots of black smoke. Teacher told us to think of an illness we had, then said, "Ready, get-set, go." We were asked by Teacher to stomp our feet while simultaneously pushing on our ears. Some fellow practitioners did it slowly, so Teacher asked us to do it over again. I didn't have a serious illness, so I did not have the obvious feeling of my body being cleansed. I just remembered I had been sleepy for two days, so I listened to the class with my eyes closed, but I heard every word of Teacher's lecture.

Later on, a practitioner showed us the five sets of exercises on the stage, and Teacher came down to correct our movements. I saw that Teacher corrected movements for a practitioner near me who had come late. Teacher was really responsible to practitioners.

The last day was arranged for Teacher to answer questions. One practitioner asked, "What does 'guiding people to high levels' mean?" Teacher said (paraphrase), "If I have not made this point clear for you, I would be disappointed," Teacher added, "This question is from a practitioner who came late (missed the first classes)."

A practitioner asked, "I admire you so much, can I follow you wherever you go?" which caused laughter. Teacher responded with a smile, and said (paraphrase) "I was asked similar questions in other classes. If you cultivate yourselves well, it makes no difference where you are. If you really understand what I taught in the class, you would have no questions to ask."

I still remember one lady who was so excited that she shared her experiences with me when we were in the restroom. She had suffered from lumbar disc protrusion, which could not be cured by any conventional means. However, this severe illness disappeared after she began practicing Falun Gong. She specifically pointed out that she felt energized, as Teacher said in Zhuan Falun,

"...when you walk it'll be like treading on air. Before, maybe you'd get tired after just a short stroll, but now it's a breeze no matter how far you go. When you're riding your bike it feels like somebody is giving you a push, and you don't get tired no matter how many stairs you climb. I'll guarantee it. "

When another practitioner presented a banner which read, "Practice of Mighty Virtue," enthusiastic applause arose. An elderly woman said, "Our Teacher is a living Buddha!"

That class was held in an auditorium in Wuhan Steel Factory located in the suburbs of Wuhan City. The class ended at about 8:30 p.m. every evening, when all the buses were no longer in service. Thus it was very inconvenient for practitioners from downtown. Some practitioners who improved their xinxing noticed this problem and took it upon themselves to rent several buses to drop practitioners off downtown for free. Among Falun Gong practitioners, good deeds like this are too numerous to mention one by one. I felt that I had entered into a truly pure land.

A dozen years passed by in just an moment, and since I did not improve myself diligently, I'm afraid that I have wasted the predestined relationship I had with Teacher. However, I still have the responsibility to tell people the wonderfulness and sacredness of Dafa that I witnessed thirteen years ago, because I experienced Master's mercy and Buddha's infinite grace during those memorable days!
