(Clearwisdom.net) It has been months since Teacher published the new article titled, "Thoroughly Dissolve the Evil," in which He says,
"all Dafa disciples around the world—particularly the Dafa disciples in each region of mainland China—are to concertedly send righteous thoughts toward those evil places, thoroughly dissolving all evil beings and elements that persecute Dafa disciples, clearing away the evil circumstances under which Dafa disciples are persecuted in mainland China, and saving the world’s people, [thereby] fulfilling the duties of a Dafa disciple and advancing toward godhood."
I feel deeply ashamed because many of us practitioners in China have not lived up to our significant responsibilities.
When I exchanged understandings about this article, I realized that many fellow practitioners had but a superficial understanding about it. I don't think they have managed to overcome their notions. Instead, they continue to harbor the same mentality when it comes to eliminating the evil via sending righteous thoughts. In spite of Teacher's Fa-rectification having progressed to the present pivotal stage, the persecution remains severe in many areas of China. No practitioner in China can deny that he is responsible for it!
The persecution of Falun Gong started in July 1999. Presently, the persecution has spread throughout China, including over 30 provinces and regions. As of December 28, 2006, 3,011 Falun Gong practitioners have been verified as being persecuted to death in China while the actual number of deaths is much larger, but cannot be determined as yet.
Let's think about it calmly. For the past few years, how many fellow practitioners around us have been kidnapped, imprisoned, tortured and died because of the persecution? Every day Falun Gong practitioners are tortured and killed. In March 2006, the Sujiatun Death Camp in Shenyang was exposed. Next, it was discovered that there were such camps in over 30 areas in China. It does not do justice to merely describe the persecution as "extremely evil." As witnesses to these atrocities, what have we done to stop them? We must ask ourselves: " Have we fulfilled our responsibilities? Have we practitioners in China truly formed one-body, fully utilized all our means and wits and responded to the persecution?"
It has been my personal observation that some practitioners depend on others, observe the situation cautiously, hesitate and wait for others to take action, care not about the plights of others, feel they are powerless or even acknowledge the persecution. Some practitioners think that they shouldn't meddle with persecuted practitioners' business for they believe that those practitioners brought the persecution upon themselves with their attachments or loopholes in their cultivation. Some practitioners, while trying to rescue fellow practitioners, seem to think about themselves most of the time: "I hope I won't be kidnapped too. This guy has had contact with me. I hope he won't rat on me. Where should I hide my things? I must leave here at once." None of these thoughts are righteous, nor do they belong to a Falun Gong practitioner. They are, in fact, far from what Teacher expects of us.
When we send forth righteous thoughts, do we distract ourselves with interfering thoughts? "Will he be able to rely on his own righteous thoughts to be released? Does he have righteous thoughts? Is he on hunger strike, or has he taken any other peaceful means to protest the persecution?" These impure thoughts will obstruct us from sending powerful righteous thoughts and from attaining what Teacher requires of us when we send righteous thoughts. Teacher said,
"You should focus your attention and your effort, your mind has to be absolutely clear and rational, the force of your thoughts needs to be focused and strong, with an air of supremacy and of destroying all evil in the cosmos." ("Righteous Thoughts")
We shouldn't judge or make presumptions about those imprisoned practitioners. The only thing that should concern us is to do our very best to rescue them for we must never allow the evil to prevail under any condition. If the evil dares to interfere with Teacher's Fa-rectification at any time, then it is our duty to eliminate and dissolve it.
Teacher cautioned us a long time ago:
"As you know, the persecution that Dafa disciples in Mainland China suffer is quite severe, so each student has to truly, clearly realize what his responsibility is, and when he sends forth righteous thoughts he has to be able to truly calm his mind and truly produce the effect of righteous thoughts. So this is something extremely critical, extremely important. Then if every student is able to do that, I can tell you, with five minutes of sending forth righteous thoughts together, the evil in the Three Realms will never exist again--that's how important this is. But it's been a long time since you started sending forth righteous thoughts. The evil beings that have been eliminated are really many. From another perspective, since how well each person does in the process of his cultivation, his improvement, and his understanding, and how well he does in the Fa-rectification is directly related to his own cultivation, and also directly related to the level he has elevated to, Master cannot require too much of you. I'm only telling you its importance. How far a person wants to cultivate to and what realm a person wants to reach are his own business. Master can only tell you the importance of sending forth righteous thoughts." ("Fa-Lecture at the Conference in Florida, U.S.A.")
It is high time for practitioners in China to be clearheaded when it comes to dissolving the evil and rescuing fellow practitioners. The process of rescuing fellow practitioners is part of our cultivation and a process of continuously assimilating ourselves to the Fa. It is not just about doing rescue work. We must not linger in the same state. Presently, we should focus on destroying the evil's dark dens and all the evil that is manipulating people to persecute Falun Gong practitioners in China.
We may often say, "Teacher, you must be exhausted. Teacher has endured everything for us. Teacher has been worrying tirelessly for us," but it shouldn't be just lip service. We should do our utmost to attain Teacher's goal so that Teacher doesn't have to work so hard and so that Teacher will be pleased with us!
Since the history of mankind was created completely for today's Fa-rectification, Falun Gong practitioners' existence in today's human society is to assist Teacher with His Fa-rectification. Can we live up to the title of "Fa-disciples who help Master"? ("Congratulatory Message") Teacher has bestowed unprecedented honor and mighty virtue on today's Falun Gong practitioners, but Teacher gets nothing back. In fact, Teacher has given everything he has for sentient beings and has created a brand new universe and future for the sentient beings! Dear fellow practitioners, Teacher has endured and sacrificed everything to give us everything we have. Teacher's Fa-rectification has progressed to the very last stage; what are we waiting for? Why can we not be diligent in our cultivation? We must not be nonchalant about our cultivation any longer. Any slacking off on our part may cost the lives of infinite sentient beings! We are future Buddhas, Taos, and divine beings. Let's tread our way to godhood and fulfill our prehistoric grand pledge --- assisting Teacher with His Fa-rectification.
