Taiwan: Shulin Minghui School Organizes Parent-Children Camp (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) Shulin Minghui School has a traditional Parent-Children Camp on the last Sunday of each month. It is free of charge, and participants can practice the Falun Gong exercises together and attend a traditional Chinese culture class. Moreover, children can watch their favorite video programs, sing along, and learn to bake their favorite desserts from the "Do It Yourself" class. It helps participants to make new friends who are also interested in cultivating themselves and provides a platform for parents and children to spent time together doing something they all enjoy. A Minghui reporter recently joined them to experience the Camp.

The camp day started at Tung-hwa Mountain Park. Participants first spent about 20 minutes climbing uphill, which gave them a good opportunity to enjoy nature. After arriving at the Park Plaza, they laid down sitting mats and started to meditate with the exercise music resounding on the mountain.

Seeing these often mischievous kids meditating tranquilly on the mountain presented a very special and touching scene, and we were compelled to take more pictures from different angles. It was very pure and sacred. When I turned around, I saw a photo on a poster titled "Falun Dafa Guides Me out of the Maze of Life." The scene and the photo made me further understand why Falun Dafa has spread to more than 80 countries and why practitioners in China can firmly believe in the practice despite the brutal persecution.

After practicing the five sets of Falun Gong exercises, they realized that some new practitioners had joined them. Fa Study was next on the schedule, and they read the Falun Dafa teachings together.

After the outdoor activities, they went back to the classroom of the Minghui School to have a simple lunch. The children then took a nap.

Afternoon session: NTDTV video programs, sing along, culture course

It was very interesting to interview the children because they don't lie. Fourth grader Weihsu Chen said: "I didn't like to practice Falun Gong in the past. However, I now do like Falun Gong because all my family members practice Dafa and I also gradually learned that I will loose De (virtue) if I bully others. Since I started to practice Dafa, I feel that I am changing. I can understand many things and seem to have become smarter than before."

Yungsheng Chao's mother told me that her son started to practice Falun Gong last summer and can understand a lot of the teachings. The parents believe that it is very important to educate children with high moral standards, which are missing from regular schools. Yungsheng told me that he knew that the teachings of Falun Dafa were very good and that he enjoyed cultivation.

The Parent-Children Camp is open to the public and free of charge, and every family or individual is welcome.
