Some Thoughts After Reading "Preferring to Play a Secondary Role"
By a Falun Dafa practitioner in China
(Clearwisdom.net) After reading "Preferring to Play a Secondary
Role" published in the No. 252 issue of Minghui Weekly (http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2006/11/14/79911.html),
I felt it was talking about me. From a young age, I also had formed the mindset
of being a weak person. I had a very strong attachment of dependence and pursued
comfort. Even now, I carry strong thoughts of waiting for and depending on
others to initiate action, come up with ideas, or to spur me on. I did not keep
in touch nor share experiences with local practitioners, so I did not find my
own path of validating Dafa, which I must face and rectify immediately. At the
same time, instigated by the fellow practitioner's article, I want to share my
understandings about what kind of persons are suited to be leaders. Because I am facing issues of graduating and finding a job, my classmates
often talk about jobs and personal development. Of course, Master has arranged
our cultivation paths. We should not be attached to it but we should follow the
course of nature. When we talked about positions in human resources or manager
positions, I often said without thinking: "I am not suited for this
position." Although I felt a bit uncomfortable when I said those words, I
did not think deeply from the perspective of Fa. After I read the article today,
I asked myself: "Why am I not suited for managerial positions? What kind of
people are suited for managerial positions? Are Dafa practitioners who cultivate
according to the cosmic principle of "Truthfulness, Compassion and
Tolerance" only suited for technical jobs? Are only those ordinary people
who are good at socializing and talking suited for managerial positions? I must
admit that such a thought was hidden in my mind for a long time. For a long time, the CCP's "party culture" has brainwashed the
Chinese people. Chinese people have formed many degenerated opinions, such as
"one cannot achieve anything if he does not lie", "one cannot
complete a social task if he does not smoke and drink", etc. Since we grew
up in the CCP's "party culture", we have similar opinions unknowingly.
So, after obtaining the Fa, in order not to violate the principle of
"Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance", it seems that I am only
suited to do technical jobs and those jobs which do not require much
communication among people. Actually, ancient imperial examinations recruited people who knew Confuscian
teachings, were learned and versatile and had a lofty moral character. Before
the establishment of the imperial examination, the selection of officials was
based on personal recommendations. Those who possessed moral integrity, the
Confucian values of "loyalty, filial piety, honesty, and
righteousness" were recommended to be officials by the local folks. Only
such talents can bring happiness and hope to people and state. During this period of Fa-rectification, the evil party members who persecuted
Dafa practitioners and lost their moral conscience are definitely not qualified
to be leaders in the world. And those who still support the CCP and do not have
a positive understanding of Dafa are also not qualified to be leaders. What kind
of people are qualified to lead? I think only those who have positive
understandings of Dafa, have quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations and
are able to promote positive understandings of Dafa are qualified to be leaders
among everyday people. As Dafa practitioners, we can practice at any post,
including leadership positions in ordinary society, and rectify all of what is
not righteous. Of course, our Dafa practitioners do not come to be leaders in
society, but to save all beings. I hope those who have similar degenerated opinions as me take advantage of
the time to rectify yourselves. Think about it, driven by the field of Dafa
practitioners' righteous thoughts, if those just people who possess both moral
integrity and professional competence would assume all leadership positions in
ordinary society, what would the whole social state be? Of course, the
prerequisite is that Dafa practitioners' righteous righteous would be the main
driving force. All of above are my current understandings at my level. If there is any
inappropriate words please, fellow practitioners, point them out. November 14, 2006
