(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Tan Xiaolan, a practitioner in Mengquan Town, Shimen County, Changde City, Hunan Province, was bedridden for over two years with pancreatic cancer before she began to practice Falun Dafa, having heard others talking about its wonders in 1998. She became healthy again both physically and mentally shortly afterward, and in three months she was able to work in the fields again. However, since the persecution began on July 20, 1999, people from the county 610 Office, police department, town police station, and the town office have arrested her three times and ransacked her home numerous times. 610 Office personnel injected her parents with unknown drugs and fed them poisonous food, which resulted in the total loss of their eyesight. More details of her situation follow:

Ms. Tan was first arrested in January 2001. The police put her in the detention center and directed the inmates to call the teacher of Falun Gong, Mr. Li Hongzhi, names in front of her. They prohibited her from doing the exercises and pulled her pants off and sexually harassed her if she did. Ms. Tan kept telling them the facts with a benevolent heart and helped them as much as she could in the daily routine. The inmates all came to understand that Falun Gong is good and stopped harassing her. Some even began to learn to practice with her secretly.

Seeing this, the officials in Shimen County fabricated evidence and had her sent to a forced labor camp for a year. They put her in Baimalong Women's Forced Labor Camp in Zhuzhou City. A physical exam showed that she was suffering from late-stage cancer that had metastasized. The police and the local officials had to take her back and put her in the county jail. She then began to throw up and cough up blood. The police were afraid that she might die in the jail and wanted to let her go. But they still threatened her not to practice Falun Gong. She refused. The police became infuriated and slammed her head against the wall, the desk, and the ground. When they were exhausted and stopped, a policeman with last name Song talked to her. The inmates and the police standing by were astounded to see that she was not injured at all. Ms. Tas was then released to seek medical treatment.

Ms. Tan was arrested a second time in 2003. The police insisted that she had distributed the fliers found in the local neighborhood and arrested her. Her husband had a girlfriend and did not want her home. The police got him to cooperate with them by signing a falsified document and used it as evidence to sentence her to one and a half years of forced labor. During this time, Ms. Tan's parents were rendered blind by 610 Office personnel and were unable to take care of themselves.

Ms. Tan went on a hunger strike to protest. She told the police, "'Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance' are used to measure all lives. Please do not do any bad deeds. If you guys don't believe it, you will find out. Those here who persecute practitioners will be punished in three days." Three days later, they released her. It was reported that one of the policemen was killed in a car accident.

Although they let her out, they monitored her around the clock. The people assigned to watch her also encountered karmic retribution. Some had a car accident and became mentally disabled. Some had eye problems. Some had neck injuries. They switched people several times. Some even attempted to kill her by putting poison in her food.

The third time she was arrested was after the incident where 610 Office personnel directed someone to put poison in her parents' food. On October 14, 2005, Ms. Tan was illegally arrested at her home by Shimen County 610 Office director Mr. Shen, Mengquan Town Police Station head, Mr. Yang, Mengquan Town director Mr. Pi, and the village security director Mei Qiyuan. They put her in the brainwashing class at the guest house in Qingfeng Mine in Changde City.

A dozen or so practitioners were at the brainwashing class. Each practitioner was kept in a room, accompanied by two "guards" and two "helpers" who were assigned to monitor her. The guards played videos slandering Dafa all day long.

Finding that pure force did not seem to work, the guards decided to pretend to be nice. They wanted to find out Ms. Tan's source of Dafa materials, and also the name of the person who disclosed on Minghui.net the news of her parents' being paralyzed by persecution. Ms. Tan wrote a draft, describing how Dafa gave her a second life when she lost all hope because of her pancreatic cancer. She also described how she had cultivated and that Teacher had said that practitioners are not to be involved in politics. The guards took the draft and added their stuff to it and handed it back to her to copy in her own writing. She refused to. They dragged her from her bed late at night. She yelled, "You guys are persecuting Dafa practitioners." The two guards covered her head up with a quilt lest she be heard and threatened her, "If you don't copy it, we will sentence you to four years of forced labor. It does not matter whether it is reasonable or not."

The next day, the chief of the 610 Office Mr. Yi (now head of the brainwashing class) threatened her, "You have not changed a bit after repeated education. We have ways to win your husband over and destroy your family, you know. Just wait and see."

Ms. Tan went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. On the seventh day, a dozen guards swarmed upon her. Some held her arms and legs, some pinched her nose to force-feed her drugs. She found it difficult to breathe and her whole body was numb. The guard said, "We'll just take her to the hospital and give her shots if she does collapse. Let's get her cousin over here." (They knew that her cousin worked at City Hall.)

Ms. Tan would not cooperate with them. One day Shimen Town 610 Office director Mr. Shen called her husband and said, "It is almost Chinese New Year. Your wife is totally uncooperative. Why don't you pay 5,000 yuan to Quanzhen Police Station so she can come home." Since it was too much money, her husband ignored him. The next day the 610 Office called him again and said, "How about 3,000 yuan? That's the minimum." Her husband ignored them again. Finally, they extorted 1,000 yuan from him and released Ms. Tan on January 9, 2006.

After Ms. Tan returned home, the 610 Office arranged for a young lady to seduce her husband. This is another example of the unscrupulous nature of the Chinese Communist Party.
