Children of Nature

Located on the northwest Scandinavian Peninsula, Norway is a small country with a population of only 4.5 million. The main characteristics of Norwegians are their love of nature and peace.

Norwegians proudly say they are children of nature. The coastline of Norway is quite unique. It is not straight but rather curvy, forming many basins of different sizes. Along the coastline there are high standing rocks and nice sandy beaches. This is the place where Norwegians spend most of their holidays and spare time.

A Nation that Loves Peace

Norwegians have a long tradition of loving peace. Over a century ago, Nobel designated his Peace Prize in Norway. Every December, the Nobel Peace Prize would be issued by the King in Oslo, the capital of Norway. Norway's national day is also unique. When the King and Queen review their subjects at the flat roof of the palace, what passes before them is not the military but a band of children.

Perhaps because of the Norwegianslove of nature and peace, when they get to know Falun Dafa and hear about the universal characteristic of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, many people can identify with it, and many have even joined in the practice.

Christopher梪pright and multi-talented

Christopher is a young Norwegian. When he first heard of Falun Gong, he immediately realized that this was what he had been looking for, and he wanted to read Zhuan Falun, the main book of Falun Gong, in Chinese. Without any help and assistance, using only two dictionaries, he finished reading the Chinese version of Zhuan Falun in six months. Now he can read the Chinese version of Zhuan Falun as if it were his native language.

He is a photographer and editor. Before he practiced Falun Gong, Christopher could not bear all the bad things in the film and TV industry and decided to work in a nursing home for the elderly. After starting cultivation, Christopher picked up his camera again and produced a short film exposing the Chinese Communist regime's persecution of Falun Gong. The film was shown on Norwegian TV. A Chinese-language TV station, NTDTV, also broadcast a few short films he produced. He is now producing a new film that he wrote himself about cultivation, hoping that more people will learn about Falun Gong through his work.

On July 23, 2004, more than 1,000 Falun Gong practitioners from around the world formed a two-mile long human wall in Washington DC, expressing the Falun Gong practitionersuncompromising courage in face of the five-year persecution imposed by the Chinese Communist regime and Jiang's group, and strongly protesting the CCP regime's terrorist acts against Falun Gong practitioners both inside and outside China. Christopher was one of the practitioners in the human wall, and at that time he had been a practitioner for only over a year.

Broad-minded and Pure Xixi

Xixi is a teacher. After she started practicing Falun Gong, her allergies disappeared. During the past few years, she used her own savings and holidays to promote Falun Gong's health benefits at various health expos. She helped many Norwegian people to understand Falun Gong and quite a few of them started to practice.

Xixi is very concerned with the ongoing persecution of Falun Gong in China. She has taken part in many activities exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. In the school in which she teaches, many classes invited her to introduce Falun Gong to them.

Xixi is extremely kind to fellow Falun Gong practitioners. Practitioners who met her have never heard a single word of complaint from her about anyone. She always sees other peoplesgood sides and is always willing to share her cultivation experience with others. Her home is always open. Whenever there are Falun Gong activities in her area, she always warmly invites practitioners from other areas to live in her house and she makes them feel like it is their own home.

The Kindness of the Norwegian Police

After the North European Falun Gong Experience Sharing Conference in June 2001, some practitioners from around the world began a tour through four north European nations. On June 19 they arrived in the Norwegian capital of Oslo and visited the Chinese Embassy to appeal for an immediate end to the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners by Jiang Zemin and his followers.

Upon learning of the brutal inhuman treatment of Falun Gong practitioners in China, the two policemen at the Embassy expressed their great sympathy. They appreciated very much the peaceful appeals by practitioners and liked the atmosphere of serenity and peace. They told their colleagues, "We were on duty in front of the Chinese Embassy. There was a demonstration by Falun Gong. They are very peaceful." When passers-by asked what was happening, the police told them about the persecution occurring in China. At the end of the activity, police told Norwegian practitioners, "We wish you luck. The Norwegian mountains and nature are very beautiful. Please take your guests and travel around."

There are many more stories of Norwegian people cultivating in Falun Gong, and we will write more in the future.
