Ever since June 10, 2001, when the Minghui/Clearwisdom website posted the announcement about sending forth righteous thoughts at set times worldwide, practitioners in the Banchiao area started to meet each Sunday. The first and second Sundays they meet at the square of the Stadium, the third Sunday at the square in front of the Railway Station, and the fourth and fifth they meet at the square by the County Government Building. During these gatherings, practitioners send forth righteous thoughts three times on the hour, do the Falun Gong exercises and introduce Dafa to others. It has been several years now, and no weather has stopped them.

Taipei County is the largest county in Taiwan, and Banchiao City is where the County Government is located. In early December 2005, two practitioners from Banchiao went to the County Government to clarify the facts of the persecution in China to the head of the county. They hoped that the County Head would sign the petition to demand that the Chinese Communist regime stop the brutal persecution, but he happened to be away on business. The secretary was happy to pass on the letter and informational materials about Falun Gong to the County Head. The very next day, the County Head signed the petition and chose to take the righteous side.

On Sunday January 29, Lunar New Year's Day, practitioners studied the Fa and exchanged understandings in the square. They encouraged each other to keep clear minds and focus when sending forth righteous thoughts, treasure the opportunity and mission of being a practitioner, keep up with "truth clarification," and take any possible measures to send the truth to China. They also reminded each other not to shirk the issues when facing conflicts between each other, because those are opportunities to improve xinxing.

Since many practitioners went back to their hometowns for New Years, those who remained prepared banners and set up a camera, and had a picture taken to respectfully wish Master a happy New Year.
