Case Reports of Persecution in Baoding City Forced Labor Camp, Hebei Province

Case 1. Practitioner Ms. Zhang Li Suffered Mental Breakdown Due to Torture

Ms. Zhang Li is a Falun Dafa practitioner from Qingyuan County, Baoding City. In 2004, she was arrested and taken to the Baoding City Forced Labor Camp by police from the 610 Office and the Police Department of Qingyuan County. Ms. Zhang Li refused to give up the practice of Falun Dafa. Because of this, she was brutally tortured by guards from the female division of the forced labor camp. She was administered the "death bed torture" for an extended period of time. Ms. Zhang Li suffered a mental breakdown after September 2005, due to the brutal torture.

Case 2. Practitioner Ms. Li Xiufen Suffered Mental Breakdown Due to Torture

In 2005, practitioner Ms. Li Xiufen from Baoding City was tortured in the Hongxing Road Police Station and suffered a mental breakdown. She was then held in the Baoding City Forced Labor Camp where she was further tortured. Subsequently, she was sent to a Psychiatric Hospital and was tortured there. Afterwards, she was again held in the Baoding City Forced Labor Camp. Ms. Li Xiufen has been unable to speak ever since.

Case 3. Practitioner Mr. Wang Chunde Shocked by a Ten-Thousand-Volt Electric Baton for Thirty Minutes

Mr. Wang Chunde is a practitioner from Dingzhou City in Hebei Province. He was held in the division of Sealed Management in the Baoding City Forced Labor Camp, and was brutally tortured. The guards, including Zhang Zhanqiang (male) and Liu Qingyong (male) tortured him because he and seven other practitioners, including Mr. Hu Zichun, Mr. Zhang Xiuqi and Mr. An Shilu, solemnly declared in October 2005, that the five statements they were coerced to write were null and void. On the morning of October 19, 2005, guards Zhang Zhanqiang and Liu Qingyong took advantage of the letter written against Falun Dafa by Mr. Wang Chunde's wife to worsen the torture against Mr. Wang Chunde. On the morning of October 19, they used a ten-thousand-volt electric baton to shock Mr. Wang Chunde for thirty minutes. According to eyewitnesses, Mr. Wang Chunde was very strong and did not make one sound during the entire process.

On the afternoon of October 20, practitioner Mr. Hu Zichun was pushed against the corner of a wall and shocked with an electric baton on his neck and the inner sides of his legs. On the same day, practitioner Mr. Zhang Xiuqi was shocked with an electric baton on his torso and thighs.

The four limbs of the practitioner are stretched out and tied to the four corners of an icy-cold metal bed. The practitioner cannot move at all. Neither is he allowed to get up to eat, drink, or go to the bathroom. This treatment would last from several hours up to more than a dozen days.
