Netherlands: Introducing Falun Gong to the People of a Small Town on the Rhine River (Photo)

(Clearwisdom.net) Alphen aan de Rijn is a small town in the Netherlands with the Rhine flowing through its center. On January 21st, 2006, Falun Gong practitioners from Holland came to the area to demonstrate Falun Gong exercises and expose the brutal persecution that the Chinese communist regime has inflicted on Falun Gong practitioners in China. After learning about the persecution, many people signed their names to a petition to support bringing the prime culprit Jiang Zemin to justice.

A middle-aged lady and a young boy approached the practitioners, wanting to know what the practitioners were doing. The practitioners provided them with explanations of what Falun Gong is all about and showed them photos of tortured Falun Gong practitioners. Practitioners highlighted the fact that similar relentless persecution is being carried out every day in China.

They told her about Falun Gong practitioners' legal action against Jiang Zemin for the crime of genocide. In support of Falun Gong, the lady indicated her willingness to sign her name. She also explained the facts to the boy and allowed him to sign. She commented, "It is a great lesson for him to support justice and help others."

Another lady who lived in the town asked practitioners where she could learn the Falun Gong exercises. A practitioner whose residence is nearest to Alphen aan de Rijn, helped the lady to arrange the details.

One gentleman said he couldn't understand at all why the Chinese communist regime should have decided to persecute such a wonderful way of cultivation. Practitioners explained to him that Falun Gong asks people to become compassionate, and that it promotes harmony as well as tolerance. In contrast, the Chinese communist regime trumpets political struggles and rules the country based on violence and lies. As a result, the regime instigated the persecution.
