FDI: FALUN GONG NEWS BULLETIN - Feb. 02, 2006
Feb. 02, 2006 GOOGLE COMPLICIT IN CHINESE COMMUNIST REGIME'S CAMPAIGN OF TORTURE AND
KILLING?
FALUN GONG NEWS BULLETIN

NEW YORK (FDI) - The Falun Dafa Information Center (FDI) joins human rights
organizations and U.S. lawmakers in condemning Google's recent decision to
censor its Chinese search engine content according to Chinese Communist regime
specifications. "We are very concerned about Google's recent
decision," said FDI spokesperson Levi Browde. "Search results for 'Falun
Gong' on google.cn yield results containing pure hatred and lies strategically
put forth by the Chinese Communist regime to convince Chinese people that its
ruthless persecution of Falun Gong is justified. In this regard, Google is
helping the Chinese Communist regime to mobilize Chinese people in the regime's
campaign of systematic torture and killing of the peaceful Falun Gong,"
Browde continued.
COURT RULES FALUN GONG A 'CREED' AND PROTECTED UNDER HUMAN RIGHTS CODE
OTTAWA (Ottawa Citizen) - The Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario has ruled that
the Ottawa Chinese Senior Association discriminated against one of its members
when it cancelled her membership because she is a Falun Gong follower. The
tribunal found the association repeatedly confronted Daiming Huang, 73, publicly
revoked her membership, organized petitions against her and made derogatory
comments about her beliefs. The tribunal heard expert testimony about popular
religions in China, and determined that Falun Gong constitutes a creed, and is
therefore protected under Ontario's Human Rights Code. The tribunal ordered the
association to pay Ms. Huang $10,000 for loss of dignity and $8,000 for mental
anguish. It was also ordered to reinstate the complainant's membership and allow
other Falun Gong followers to join, and to add anti-discriminatory policies to
its constitution.
FALUN GONG PERSECUTION CASE GOES TO ARGENTINA SUPREME COURT
BUENOS AIRES (FDI) - According to a Jan. 25, 2006 memo from the Falun Dafa
Association of Argentina, a lawsuit against Luo Gan, a member of the Chinese
Communist Party's Central Committee, will be heard by Argentina's Supreme Court.
Luo is being sued for crimes against humanity committed in his role as the vice
director of the 610 Office, a secret government entity which has carried out and
overseen the persecution on Falun Gong since June, 1999. Many have likened the
610 Office to Nazi Germany's Gestapo. Luo's persecutory tactics emerged in
Argentina one month ago when nine Argentine practitioners of Falun Gong were
assaulted and beaten by more than 40 Chinese communist supporters of Luo Gan in
front of the Argentine Congressional building. The assault took place one day
after the lawsuit against Luo Gan was filed and when Luo was visiting with
Argentina's vice president.
AMIDST CONTROVERSY, SAN FRANCISCO SUPERVISORS CONDEMN PERSECUTION OF FALUN GONG
SAN FRANCISCO (FDI) - In spite of advertisements in a local newspaper defaming
Falun Gong, and overcoming reported pressure from leaders in the Chinese
community with ties to the Chinese consulate, San Francisco's Board of
Supervisors passed a resolution condemning the persecution of Falun Gong
Tuesday. The resolution, which was passed by a vote of 9-2, was initiated by
Supervisor Chris Daly, who had initiated a similar resolution in 2001. At that
time the resolution was rejected after the city's Chinese Chamber of Commerce
leader Rose Pak lobbied strongly against it. Concurrently in San Francisco, much
controversy has been raised over the attempts of Chinese regime-backed
organizations to bar Falun Gong practitioners from participating in the city's
Chinese New Year parade.
