Practitioners Unreasonably Fired by Shuanghuan Scientific Ltd. in Hubei Province in 2005

(Clearwisdom.net) Since the persecution of Falun Gong started on July 20, 1999, officials at Shuanghuan Scientific Ltd. in Hubei province have actively participated in the persecution. Many practitioners were arrested, some were sentenced to labor camps, some were fired for no good reason, and many suffered financial losses such as being forced to pay huge "guarantee fees" or lost salaries amounting to as much as 10,000 yuan.

Starting in May 2005, the company escalated its persecution of practitioners. The company officials executed a policy of firing practitioners to bankrupt them financially. Other things took place as detailed below.

On July 24, 2004, a former employee of the company, practitioner Ms. Zhang Jingyu, was sentenced to one year of forced labor for clarifying the truth. The company terminated Ms. Zhang's contract without remitting the 30,000 yuan severance pay as her contract stipulated. Ms. Zhang suffered severely due to the persecution, and her husband was pressured to divorce her.

On February 8, 2006, practitioner Mr. Yang Wenming, an employee of that company, was arrested for clarifying the truth. Overseas practitioners made many phone calls and sent forth righteous thoughts. Mr. Yang's family members also refused to cooperate with the evildoers. Mr. Yang went on a hunger strike in prison. As a result, he was unconditional released on February 14, 2006. However, after Mr. Yang returned to work, his supervisor demanded that he write a guarantee statement, promising not to practice Falun Gong and threatened to cancel his employment contract if he did not comply.

Shuanghuan Scientific Ltd. recently issued a new employment policy. Section 57 provides that practitioners who distribute Falun Dafa flyers or participate in other Falun Dafa activities will be fired. The company officials are proposing to fire Mr. Yang under this policy.

Company Board Chairman and Party Committee Secretary Wu Dangsheng, President Wan Nianchun, Party Committee Deputy Chairman and Labor Union Chairman Lei Fan, company office director Zhou Bo, and other executives are all responsible for the discrimination against practitioners. He Zhongping and Yang Bin from the company security department and other managers in each division and department also participated in the persecution.
