Practitioner Couple Arrested by Jilin City Police

(Clearwisdom.net) Early in the afternoon on March 2, 2006, several police officers barged into practitioner couple Wang Jianguo and Zhao Qiumei's restaurant and confiscated a computer and other personal belongings. They arrested the couple and took them to the Nanjing Police Station in the Chuanying District. Following are details.

Mr. Wang Jianguo is 30 years old and Ms. Zhao Qiumei is 31. Both started Fa study in 1995. After beginning cultivation they continued to purify their minds and changed for good in body and mind. After the persecution started on July 20, 1999, they went to Beijing several times to appeal. In November 2000, Mr. Wang was arrested and sentenced to two years of forced labor. He was imprisoned in the Huanxiling Forced Labor Camp in Jilin City. In December 2001, Ms. Zhao was sent to the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp where she was was subjected to two years of brutal abuse.

In the morning on March 2, 2006, the police showed up at the couple's restaurant. In the afternoon before 2 o'clock, first a plainclothes officer and then three uniformed officers barged into the restaurant. They arrived in a police van, license plate #B0657. They started to ransack the place. Mr. Wang took the chance to run away, but two police officers ran after him and captured him. Mr. Wang's face was covered with mud.

In the restaurant, the police savagely beat Ms. Zhao, and then two officers dragged her out. She then shouted loudly, "Police beat people!" She did not cooperate with them. They were extremely angry and literally dragged her to the Nanjinglu Police Station, which was close to the restaurant. After the couple was taken to the Nanjinglu Police Station, another five uniformed police officers went to the restaurant, and searched through belongings and took photos.

Around three o'clock in the afternoon, four vehicles were parked at the restaurant. A plainclothes officer in an off-white jacket stood at the restaurant's entrance, pacing back and forth. After four o'clock, eight or nine people walked out of the restaurant, one of them in a police uniform. They moved belongings into a silver gray van. Then they re-entered the restaurant.

In the evening Mr. Wang Jianguo's family went to Nanjing Police Station, asking the whereabouts of the couple. The police acknowledged the arrest. When the family wanted to see the couple, the police refused. The family pressed the police for the reason for the arrest, but the officer answered that he didn't know.

Agents from the Hadawan Police Station in the Changyi District had recently harassed Mr. Wang Jianguo's father, Wang Shusen, the reason being that local government officials were afraid of practitioners going to Beijing during the time of the two CCP conferences.

In addition, to prevent tapping into cable TV systems, employees who were laid off from the Jilin Chemical Industrial Company were urged to work monitoring residential areas and building cable TV distribution boxes. They were promised a monthly stipend of 500 yuan.

We hope local practitioners who see this message will send righteous thoughts to strengthen Mr. Wang Jianguo and Ms. Zhao Qiumei. Other practitioners according to their abilities can use different methods to rescue them.
