The Process of Breaking Free of Detention in Five Days

(Clearwisdom.net) Some fellow practitioners and I were illegally arrested by the Panjiabao Town Police Station when we distributed truth clarifying materials in Panjiabao Town, Liaozhong County, Liaoning Province on February 16, 2006. Ping Dongchang, from the 610 Office, Li Wei, the chief of the State Protection Brigade under the Public Security Bureau, and Zhu Dezhen, the Director of Panjiabao Police Station, interrogated us day and night. Li Wei punched and kicked me several times, and I was kicked down three times because we did not cooperate with them. I faced Li Wei and said, "Falun Gong is good." They left quietly after a while. The policemen handcuffed me to a heating pipe.

One man (I did not know his name) illegally took a photograph of me on the afternoon of the second day. Then, my fellow practitioners and I were sent to the Liaozhong Detention Center separately. We suffered much inhumane treatment in the detention center. They intended to take our pictures and get our fingerprints. When I faced the camera, I shouted loudly, "Falun Gong is good!" I did not cooperate. I didn't wear the prison uniform, sit on the board, take pictures, or leave my fingerprints. Police officer Xing ordered four policemen to put the prison uniform on me, take my picture, and get my fingerprints. Xing put shackles on my feet and locked me up. During this process, I again shouted loudly, "Falun Gong is good!"

Because I staged a hunger strike against this persecution, the police were unable to reach their goal.

After this event happened, I looked inward and found several of my shortcomings. I did not study the Fa with a calm mind. Although I restrained it, I did not let go of the attachment of my desire. Because I did not study the "Fa" with a calm mind, I could not concentrate when I sent forth righteous thoughts, which resulted in the old forces having an excuse to persecute me.

On the afternoon of February 20, the police organized a new round of persecution. They transferred me to the notorious Zhangshi Brainwashing Center. They arranged for several people that had gone astray and slandered Falun Gong since 2002, including Chen Jie, Yu Jie and Lan Li, to bombard me with lies. The whole time I admonished them to stop assisting the Chinese Communist regime's persecution of Falun Gong and not to miss the rare and precious opportunity to select a bright future for themselves.

I did not cooperate with the evil, and I held a firm belief in Dafa. Under Teacher's protection and compassion, and many fellow practitioners' assistance, I maintained righteous thoughts and righteous actions. When I was in critical condition and had symptoms of heart disease that evening, the police arranged for the 610 Office in the Liaozhong County Political and Legal Committee and the Public Security Bureau to pick me up from the Zhangshi Brainwashing Center in order to evade the responsibility for my bad condition. On the morning of February 21, Feng Dongchang from the 610 Office even pulled on my ears and force-fed me water. I refused to cooperate with them, and they did not have any other recourse, so they let my family members take me home.

When my daughter saw me, she said to them, "My father is a very kind man. How could you persecute him? If he is injured, I won't let you off." The police said that I would be "awaiting trial while on bail" and released me. By the second day after my release, my health had recovered by about 80 percent.
