Some Thoughts about Exchanging Views

(Clearwisdom.net) I was once exchanging views with several fellow practitioners, and before I finished, one of the practitioners advised me on how I should think about the issue. However, I felt that I had not even presented my whole idea, therefore we started to argue. Finally this practitioner said that I was too subjective, and the atmosphere was somewhat tense at the moment. Another practitioner said, "I have encountered many situations like this, and I could envision beforehand how the conversation would go." Thus, the exchange ended.

Afterwards when I thought about it, I realized that I indeed had deficiencies. I should not be so anxious to defend myself just because others do not let me finish talking. When we have different understandings and are unable to let the other party immediately understand our subtle thoughts via spoken language, we should not become anxious to explain or argue. It's not only because this is considered "Forbearance," but also because it is looking inward when encountering conflicts, which is a basic requirement of Dafa practitioners.

In addition, since Dafa practitioners are melding ourselves in Dafa, sometimes our xinxing improves very quickly. Today if I see that a fellow practitioner has this kind of attachment or that kind of shortcoming, perhaps next time we meet, he will have eliminated the attachment. We, therefore, should wipe out our past impressions of fellow practitioners and start anew each time we exchange views.
