Mr. Wang Zhige Persecuted in Hulan Jail, Heilongjiang Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Practitioner Mr. Wang Zhige from Fangzheng County, Heilongjiang Province was illegally sentenced and imprisoned in Hulan Jail, Heilongjiang Province. There he was tortured by the prison guards and common criminals. In Fangzheng County Jail, the section chief of National Security, Chou Yongsheng, conspired with police officers Dong Yansong, Weng Hongjun and others to persecute Mr. Wang Zhige, causing loss of sight in his right eye.

On March 27, 2005, the section chief of Fangzheng County National Security, Chou Yongsheng, led police to kidnap Mr. Wang. They confiscated a desktop computer, a notebook computer, a printer, and other materials from his home.

In the office of the National Security team, Mr. Wang was interrogated and tortured for twenty-four hours. He was beaten on the face by policeman Weng Xuebing in front of the bureau chief. On March 28, he was thrown into jail. On April 4, Mr. Wang started to fast to protest the persecution. On April 8, he was brutally force-fed by police, which lasted around 3 hours. This caused his oral cavity to become infected. The food went into his trachea, causing him to suffocate and go into shock. After several days the guards carried out a second force-feeding.

On April 13, Mr. Wang's right eye suddenly could not see things clearly and he soon lost sight. He still cannot see out of his right eye, and the fingers on his right hand are numb. The jail's political instructor, Dong Yansong, slapped Mr. Wang in the face. The guards kept force-feeding him until May 7 when he stopped fasting.

On June 22, 2005, police from Fangzheng County transferred Mr. Wang to Hulan Jail. At the guard's bidding, the chief of the training team, Li Maojin (the head of the criminals) and other criminals pushed Mr. Wang to the ground and pulled his arms in order to force him to give up his belief in Falun Gong. Guard Xu Ruye threatened him saying: "If you do not "transform," you will not be allowed to have visitors, write letters or make calls."

Mr. Wang was coerced to write the "Four Statements" to give up his belief. However, he soon realized his mistake. On September 5, he and four other Dafa practitioners submitted solemn declarations to the jail in written form, declaring the four statements they wrote earlier null and void. Later on, the guards became angry out of shame. They forced Mr. Wang to stand from 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. every day for 30 days. Because Mr. Wang firmly believed in Dafa, the guards asked the head of the criminals, Li Maojin, to look for a 3 centimeter-wide stool and force Mr. Wang to sit on it for physical punishment. In the afternoon, Li Jikai and Zheng Shujun beat Mr. Wang to make his eyes red. In the evening, they also forced him to stand facing a wall all night to indoctrinate him. Mr. Wang did not listen to them.

For the next several days, the guards threatened to kill him. One time, when they were brutally beating him, Mr. Wang loudly shouted, "Falun Dafa is good. Li Jikai beats me." Later on, a criminal head by the name of Wang Dengming beat Mr. Wang on the chest. Mr. Wang loudly shouted as before: "Falun Dafa is good." That evening, Mr. Wang found the vice-chief of the training team, Wang Lianyun, and condemned him for inciting the criminal inmates to beat Dafa practitioners mercilessly. Later on, they controlled themselves to some extent.

Hulan Jail is composed of a training team and fifteen brigades. The training team is the key element in persecuting Dafa practitioners in the jail. After Dafa practitioners are illegally arrested, they are first put into the training team to be persecuted. They are not allowed to talk among themselves. Every Dafa practitioner is monitored by two to four prisoners. The methods of persecution include: holding meetings of "exposure and criticism," sleep deprivation, beating, striking the arms and legs, tying with ropes, being confined in a solitary compartment, standing for long periods of time, and many other cruel methods. After Dafa practitioners are transferred from the training team to other brigades, they are monitored.
