(Clearwisdom.net) One day in February 2003, I took a truth clarification VCD and some other material and went to my colleague's home to clarify the truth to her and her husband. We worked together at the same office and were getting on very well. Her husband is a policeman from a police sub-station. This made it all the more necessary to tell them the facts about Falun Gong and the persecution.

After exchanging greetings, I began to talk about how good Falun Gong is, how I began to practice Falun Gong, and how much my health had improved. I also told them about how Jiang Zemin started to persecute Falun Gong after July 20, 1999, and how he framed Falun Gong and deceived the Chinese people and people of other countries by orchestrating the Tiananmen Square self-immolation. I also told them about the spread of Falun Gong around the world. My colleague was glad to hear what I had to say and was able to accept it. Her husband seemed uneasy, but he did not stop me. When I finished, I left the VCD and materials for them to watch and read.

On the third day after I returned home, the household registration officials from our local police substation and our neighborhood committee Party Secretary came to my home. They asked me, "Where have you been in recent days? You sent Falun Gong materials to someone else's home and it resulted in a quarrel between the husband and wife." They tried to persuade me not to send any of this kind of material to other people. My husband (also a practitioner) and I sent forth righteous thoughts while clarifying the truth. They left in about half an hour. Less than two minutes later, someone else knocked at the door. It was three policemen and two thugs that I had known at a brainwashing center. They forced their way in. By then I realized that the officials from our local police sub-station had come to find out if we were at home. Then the three officials from the police sub-bureau, who had been waiting downstairs, came up to arrest me.

I started to send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate evil and asked Teacher to help eliminate the evil factors in other dimensions. The three policemen ran their eyes over the rooms as they entered my home and said, "You have been having a long study session. When you came back home you not only continued to practice the exercises but also sent VCDs and Falun Gong materials to other people, which resulted in a couple being on bad terms with each other. They sent the materials to our section, so you have to come with us and explain where you got the materials." I was sitting on a sofa in the hall and remained motionless. In my heart there was no fear whatsoever. My only thought was to ask Teacher to help me because I still needed to do very sacred and great things to save sentient beings. Therefore, I was not going anywhere. I thought that they would be unable to touch me.

When I had this thought, I instantly felt that Teacher was behind me and protecting me. (My celestial eye is closed.) I said to the policemen, "I am not going anywhere. Don't you dare touch me. Haven't you read these materials? There is no anti-society stuff whatsoever in them. Our materials are open to all. They are not only open in China, but also in the rest of the world. These materials are all about exposing the crimes of fabrication and about Jiang Zemin and Luo Gan framing Falun Gong. What we do is all aboveboard and published on the Internet." One of the police officers said, "That's enough!" I ignored him and continued to clarify the truth, "Let me ask you, could the policemen on Tiananmen Square patrol with fire extinguishers on their shoulders have extinguished the fire during the so-called self-immolation incident in less than one minute? Can this kind of thing happen? Did the CCTV reporters know beforehand that the 'self-immolation' would happen, so they patrolled with the policemen, shot the incident, and then broadcast the film? Can this kind of thing happen? Coverage of the incident claimed that Wang Jindong was a veteran practitioner. However, if you look at the way he is sitting in meditation, you can tell he is a fake. Real practitioners, men and women, old and young, are all able to sit cross legged in the double lotus position or at least in the half lotus position. The footage clearly showed that Wang Jindong loosely crossed his legs and his hand position while conjoining his hands was also wrong. It is easy to fool you guys, but it cannot fool us. Furthermore, why did the police wait to extinguish the fire on Wang Jindong until after he finished shouting slogans? Isn't it clear that they were just making a film? The fire on Wang Jindong was pretty fierce. However, his eyebrows and his hair, which would have been most easily burned, were still intact. Wasn't it just playacting? Why can't you see that all this was fake and intended to frame Falun Gong? We do not even take a small life, so how could we 'kill people' or do 'self immolation?'"

The three policemen had nothing to say. Then I talked to the two thugs, "You two beat so many good people in the brainwashing center. Why did you want to beat them when they did nothing wrong? We only practice the exercises and try to become better people in accordance with the principles of 'Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance.' How is that a crime?" One of them said, "I did not beat anyone, and you know that." I answered, "You did not beat people, but you are a "collaborator". You were with the thugs when they beat me and chased after me from the second floor to the ground floor. I was all black and blue, and my mouth and ears were bleeding as a result of the severe beating. After the beating you still forced me on my knees in the cold winter rain for 13 hours. During that time, you did not allow me to eat or go to the toilet. I was soaked with rain. That was not all. I was then locked up in a confinement cell for two months. What crime did I commit? I was detained from winter to summer, and during the hottest days, I was not allowed to take a shower for eight or nine nights and I was smelly from head to foot. I was not allowed to sit down, not even when having meals. In summer when the temperature reached over 40 ^oC (104 Fahrenheit), I was forced to walk barefoot on the grass under the scorching sun. Whenever I stopped, I was kicked and punched and dragged. I was also tied up and locked in the garbage pile to feed mosquitoes. Are you the people's police or fascists? Do you dare to let the public know what you are doing?"

By that time, the three local officials were not as aggressive as they had been when they first came in. They murmured, "We are just carrying out a task as ordered." Then I asked them, "What kind of task is that? What crime have I committed? Is it theft or robbery, prostitution, or gambling? In the last four years, has an over 60-year-old woman like me spent one Chinese New Year undisturbed? How many days have passed peacefully for me? Do you also have elderly people at home? In the past my family was selected as a 'Five Good Family' (1). The certificate is still hanging on the wall. Now you arrest me at will simply because I practice Falun Gong and want to be a better person by following the standards of 'Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance.' Practicing Falun Gong cured my chronic colonitis as well as nearly a dozen other chronic diseases. In the last 11 years, I have not gone to see a doctor even once and did not need to be reimbursed for even a penny of medical expenses. Before practicing Falun Gong, I was well known as a sick person in my work place and used to be reimbursed three to five hundred yuan in medical expenses each month. How much money have my husband and I saved for the country? What's wrong with that? Now, I have perfect health and a better moral standard. I can also help my children with their household chores and take care of our grandchildren to reduce their burden so that they can work with a peaceful mind. Is this wrong? You must not be fooled by Jiang Zemin and Luo Gan and be their scapegoats in persecuting Falun Gong and its practitioners. Doing good deeds is met with good rewards, and being evil is met with evil returns. This is a heavenly principle. When you accumulate too much karma, you will suffer the consequences."

They went to another room and made two mobile phone calls and then said, "If you don't want come with us now, come to the sub-bureau by yourself!" They left in low spirits.

A practitioner's first thought is very important. When I thought about the material I gave to my colleague and her husband, I had a mentality of fear, which was a loophole that provided the evil with an opportunity. Only when we use the wisdom bestowed by Teacher and the power of Dafa can we suppress the evil and not be taken away by the evil.

Originally, I planned to clarify to truth to my colleague and her husband in hopes that when they learned the truth, they would not sabotage Dafa or persecute Falun Gong practitioners and therefore be saved. However, things went contrary to my wish. This is because I had not studied the Fa well, so when I clarified the truth I could not display the power of Dafa and save them. I realized that to clarify the truth I must study the Fa well. I also realized the important responsibility we are shouldering in saving the sentient beings. Teacher said,

"You've got to try hard, and you've got to do well, because what you want is to consummate everything, and you have responsibilities--you have come with the mission and responsibility of saving sentient beings." (Touring North America to Teach the Fa)

So in my heart I begged Teacher to give them another chance. About three months later my wish was fulfilled.

The daughter of one of my colleagues was going to get married. I guessed that the couple that reported me to the police would be present as well. That day when they saw my husband and me, they came over to the door and greeted us enthusiastically. I thought to myself that I should not dodge problems, so I purposely sat beside them. I put the materials we brought with us on the seat next to them and asked my husband to send forth righteous thoughts.

Before the banquet, I handed out the truth-clarification materials and VCDs while clarifying the truth to my colleagues. During the process, I looked at them. Her husband showed his uneasiness. When I had given out the truth-clarification materials to the people at 10 of the 20 tables, I looked around and found that he had disappeared from his seat. I guessed that he felt embarrassed when I clarified the truth and gave out truth-clarification materials in his presence, so he purposely avoided me. I continued to hand out the truth-clarification materials while clarifying the truth until I had given out all the materials we brought with us. When my colleagues noticed the improvement in my health, they were all willing to accept the materials I gave them. I did not give materials to this couple and other people at our table, but they all left their phone numbers so I could visit them later on to give them truth-clarification materials.

My colleague's husband came back when the banquet began. Since he was sitting next to me, I clarified the truth to him while we were eating. I told him, "You policemen must not follow Jiang Zemin and Luo Gan to persecute Falun Gong practitioners and must not be their scapegoats." He said, "We are under a lot of pressure from above, so we must carry out their orders. What we've been told is just the opposite of what you have said today. We are told not to read the materials you give us and, actually, we don't dare to read it. We are in this profession, so how could we not listen to them?" I told him, "You must understand that what your boss tells you about Falun Gong is fabricated lies and that practitioners are good people. Compared to me they are even better people, so you must never beat practitioners or arrest them." He said, "I did not beat them. Since most of them are senior citizens, I felt embarrassed to beat them. However, when we see them gather together or hand out materials, we drag them away." I said, "It's your own choice as to how you treat practitioners. Some policemen even help practitioners." I also told him about the truth of Falun Dafa spreading around the world and tried to persuade him to treat Dafa kindly so he would meet with good rewards. The truth-clarification went on very smoothly, which made them able to understand the truth. This is the result of the guidance and help from Teacher's immense benevolence and kindness.
