By a practitioner in Dandong, Liaoning Province

(Clearwisdom.net) After reading the article by a fellow practitioner, "Firmly Believing in Dafa and Sending Forth Righteous Thoughts Well," I would like to share my personal experience.

In "Dafa Disciples' Righteous Thoughts are Powerful" (from Essentials for Further Advancement II), Teacher said,

"Actually, every Dafa disciple has abilities. It's just that the abilities do not manifest in the surface dimension, so they think that they don't have supernormal abilities. But regardless of whether they can manifest in the surface dimension or not, when a person's True Thoughts come forth they are very powerful. Since we cultivate in a righteous Fa, we should care for and save beings and the people of the world who are good. So we should act with goodness in everything we do. Yet removing the evil beings that manipulate people into damaging humankind is also protecting humankind and sentient beings."

Some practitioners don't take sending forth righteous thoughts seriously. This is especially the case for some practitioners who are unable to see other dimensions. After studying the above teaching I realized that I must seriously review what I have been doing. Despite my inability to see in other dimensions, miracles have happened to me frequently ever since I began to look at things from the right standpoint.

Once I went to the countryside to distribute information explaining the facts behind the persecution of Falun Dafa. It was 9:00 p.m. and most people had not gone to sleep yet. There were several clouds in the sky, but the moonlight was so bright that there was a chance we would be seen. We decided to sit down to send forth righteous thoughts. We requested Teacher to strengthen us so as to make the clouds block the moon and let people go to sleep without interfering with our distributing the materials and saving sentient beings. Soon after we finished sending forth righteous thoughts, a small cloud started to block the moon, and people's noise disappeared. As a result, we smoothly completed the distribution work at around midnight.

A few raindrops then fell and the sky was full of dark clouds. The rain was coming. "We just finished distributing the materials. If it rained, all of the truth-clarification materials we distributed would get wet. Besides there is was no shelter for us, and we had to get back home," we thought. Once again, we decided to send forth righteous thoughts and to ask Teacher to strengthen us so that the clouds would disappear and the rain would stop. Not surprisingly, the rain stopped and we were able to return home safely.

Recently I was visiting my boss in order to clarify the truth to her. Since she already had a visitor in her office, I decided to wait outside. After waiting for almost an hour, however, her visitor was still there, chatting with my boss about various trivial things. I decided to send forth righteous thoughts to let him leave, because I needed to save my boss. Soon the visitor left and I was able to enter her office.

At the beginning of the conversation, my boss tried to defend the acts of the communist party. I started to send forth righteous thoughts in my heart, to help her calm down and listen to me. Gradually she calmed down and began to listen to my truth-clarification. Similar situations have happened to me several times, which demonstrates that with righteous thoughts and by looking at things from the right standpoint of saving sentient beings, we can obtain whatever supernormal abilities we need. If our thoughts and actions are not pure enough or blocked by our human notions, miracles will not occur and it will be harder for us to apply our supernormal abilities.

While hanging a practitioner by her handcuffed wrists, a police officer tried to shock her with an electric baton, when she called Teacher loudly. All of a sudden, the baton shocked the officer so hard that he cried. In the afternoon, another officer came, trying to shock her again. Instead, the officer got shocked himself. "Are we receiving retribution?" he asked.

On one occasion, I was arrested, too. A police officer held an electric baton and pointed it at the heater in the room, causing sparks to fly off in all directions. Turning back, he was going to shock my legs with the baton. "Don't shock yourself instead," I said. "How can that be possible?" he answered. Twice the baton malfunctioned. "Looks like she is really not afraid," he told his colleague.

As my experience shows, in the face of our strong righteous thoughts with no fear or human notions, evil factors just won't matter any longer. If we are truly compassionate toward sentient beings, all the persecution will stop. However, righteous thoughts and compassion are the result of our thorough Fa-study and our melting into the Fa. I strongly believe that studying the Fa well is the foundation of sending forth righteous thoughts. Only with our firm belief in Dafa can we send forth strong righteous thoughts in saving sentient beings and perform miracles, which will in turn strengthen our righteous beliefs. This way we will also pay more attention to sending forth righteous thoughts even if we are unable to see in other dimensions.

These are just some of my cultivation understandings. If there is anything improper, please point it out with compassion.
