(Clearwisdom.net) The annual International Food Table was hosted at
Clemson University on April 9, 2006. About one thousand international students
and teachers as well as local Falun Gong practitioners participated in the
event. The Falun Gong booth faced the stage in the center. Since it was centrally
located, almost everyone passed by it. A golden banner reading "Falun Dafa"
was very eye-catching, and many people took a truth-clarification flyer and
began to read. Many others viewed the posters about the origin of Falun Dafa,
its wide spread around the world, and the persecution in China. Practitioners demonstrated the five exercise sets on the stage. When the
peaceful and harmonious music resounded around the campus, the audience gave it
warm applause. A young student and his girlfriend studied the posters exposing the Chinese
Communist Party's harvesting of Falun Gong practitioners' organs in
concentration camps, and other tortures. They asked a practitioner why the CCP
persecutes Falun Gong, as the exercises looked so peaceful. A practitioner
explained that the nature of CCP was "Lie, do evil and fight." When it
saw so many Falun Gong practitioners believing in "Truth, Compassion,
Forbearance," it feared that it would lose power. Thus the persecution
began. When the practitioners were demonstrating the exercises, many people took
photos. Some of them wanted to learn the exercises, so the practitioners gave
them the exercise teaching CD. Three students came to the Falun Gong booth and wanted to sign their names to
support the petition to end the persecution. They said they were Catholics and
they had previously seen Falun Gong practitioners appealing in front of the
White House. They were very willing to help end the persecution. Practitioners
gave them some introductory materials about Falun Gong and thanked them for
their support. When the International Food Table event was over, Falun Dafa had entered the
memories of many students and teachers at Clemson University. The beauty of
Falun Dafa and the severe and brutal persecution also gave people much to think
about.
