Make Specific Requests to President Bush By a Falun Dafa Practitioner in the United States (Clearwisdom.net) In recent years when we have clarified the truth to
society, we have made requests such as "Pay attention to human rights in
China," "Express concern about the persecution of Falun Gong in
China," etc. These are correct requests, and carry positive effects to
people's consciences, but viewed from ordinary people's standpoints, their goals
are too high, and not practical. When we make such large and encompassing requests to our government leaders,
elected representatives, NGOs, or to the public, if they have learned the truth
and truly wish to do something for us, they patiently ask what they can do. They
ask, "Can you tell me specifically what I can do?" Sometimes we ask
them to sign their names to our petitions (although our petition letter may not
have specific requests), and sometimes we think that we don't need anything from
the public. People who do not know the truth, or who intentionally disregard the
persecution under the temptation of financial benefits, can easily lose their
chance to be saved. In recent years, both European and U.S. government
departments seem to have reached mutual agreement. They only dare to raise
"China Human Rights" issues when it concerns Tibet, Uighur, or
political prisoners, but avoid the key words - Falun Gong. If they mention
Falun Gong, they seem to intentionally dilute the severity of Falun Gong
practitioners' loss of human rights. Many elected officials have learned the truth from Falun Gong practitioners,
and individually they are very sympathetic and supportive. In government
departments and agencies, however, the voice of support is relatively low. Some
elected officials have reminded us to think about the results of our work. The
establishment of the "Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong in China (CIPFG)" (abbr. Coalition to Investigate
the Persecution) provides a convenient way to clarify the truth (from the grassroots
to the upper levels). Asking the public to help the "Coalition to Investigate
the Persecution" is a very specific request. It insures the safety of
the Coalition and is a very tangible request. Whoever supports the Coalition is
helping Falun Gong practitioners. The Coalition was established by the Falun
Dafa Association and Minghui, so it is openly associated with Falun Gong.
Whoever does not want to support it will be clearly seen as such. Whether it is the President or another official, each individual must
position him or herself in the face of the truth. Every individual must choose
clearly, like all the world's people, where they stand on Falun Gong issues.
Where will the future of the country that they represent lead? Thus, the
establishment of the Coalition and all requests to President Bush that refer to
the Coalition can be more effective than our past broad and open-ended requests.
This is so not only in practice, but also in following Master's teaching,
"Validate the Fa with rationality, clarify the truth with wisdom, spread
the Fa and save people with mercy..." ("Rationality",
Essentials for Further Advancement II) Some fellow practitioners think that the CCP would not dare to let Falun Dafa
practitioners enter China to investigate, so why establish the Coalition? The
popular idiom says, things are done by people. It is the CCP's matter if it
dares not let Falun Dafa practitioners enter the country, but we should not be
limited by that. We can let the whole world see how the CCP fears a world
investigation, and we will surely expose the iceberg of persecution that lies
below the exposed tip once the Coalition enters China. The Fa-rectification has
reached such a state that we Falun Dafa practitioners should not cultivate under
the arrangements of the old forces. It is time that we take concrete action to
eliminate the persecution! Posting date: 4/14/2006 |
