Exposing the Persecution of Practitioner Mr. Li Tibo at Hebei Province No. 4 Prison

Mr. Li Tibo has been detained at the Beijiao Prison (Hebei Province No. 4 Prison) in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province, since 2002 because he practices Falun Dafa and does not give up his belief.

The day after Mr. Li Tibo was sent to prison, he was diagnosed with pulmonary tuberculosis and was hospitalized. Because the inmates there were ordered to watch him at all the times, Mr. Li almost had no chance to study the Fa and do the exercises. Therefore his physical condition was not stable.

On June 2, 2003, Doctor Feng led several prisoners to rush into the ward and to force Li Tibo to take medicine. Mr. Li said he did not need medicine as long as he could practice Falun Gong normally. They took him to the nurse's office and Doctor Feng left the room. The seven or eight prisoners surrounded Mr. Li, beat him, and kicked his chest and back. He was in so much pain that he fell to the ground and curled up in a ball. Finally, they pressed him down and injected him.

In September 2003, the prison started a so-called "Assistance-Through-Reeducation Campaign" to transform Falun Gong practitioners. On September 26, Guard Yue Yuhai led several persons to the hospital and tried to brainwash and "transform" Mr. Li. Every day they forced him to sit on a ridged stool and only allowed him to sleep for two hours. Five or six days later, he was not able to endure the torture and in desperation, slammed his head against the wall. (Note: Acts of self-destruction are against the teachings of Falun Gong under any circumstances. That a steadfast practitioner would resort to such measures only underscores the brutality and viciousness of the persecution and the persecutors.) As a result, the guard whipped him with a rubber tube and handcuffed and shackled him.

In order to force him to write the Four Statements (similar to the Three Statements), on the tenth day, under the guard's command, prisoners Yang Yanqun and Qi Zhenyun whipped Mr. Li's lower legs with a bamboo stick, stomped the shackles on his feet, and stabbed his index finger with needles. Later on, his fingernail fell off and blood stained his clothes. There were even bloody spots on his back. Finally, the three-foot-long bamboo stick broke. Mr. Li's lower legs and thighs swelled. The skin turned black. He was not able to stand for seven days and could not walk normally for three months.

The guards always try to force Falun Gong practitioners to write the Four Statements with very brutal means. Behind every such "Statement" lies a bloody, inhuman farce. All these outrages in broad daylight are directly related to the cruelty and viciousness perpetrated by the CCP.
