Younger Brother Threatened and Persecuted for Defending Innocent Elder Sister

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Cui Luning is a Falun Dafa practitioner from Qingdao City. Her younger brother, Mr. Cui Luwen, was threatened by the authorities in Qingdao City because he advocated for a not guilty plea in the court case defending his sister.

On February 21, 2006, the Licang District Court held a court hearing designed to escalate the persecution of Ms. Cui Luning. Her younger brother, Cui Luwen, representing the defendant and her family, worked with an attorney to plead for his sister's innocence. The procedure was completely legal. During the court process, Liu Lin, the chief judge, twice tried to stop Mr. Cui's pleading by using political pressure. He had to give it up under Mr. Cui Luwen's strong objection. Before Mr. Cui could wind up his defence arguments, Liu Lin stepped in to stop Cui Luwen by saying that their time was up.

In the court, the attorney clearly pointed out that the police from the branch of the Anti-[slanderous term omitted] Department in Licang District violated the process of handling the case. They did not present any search warrant before or after they illegally ransacked Ms. Cui's apartment. Moreover, they trespassed into Cui Luning's apartment by using her house key without her permission. They even blatantly resorted to opening Ms. Cui's apartment door even when Cui Luning's parents were at home. They took away her checkbooks and other materials without presenting any identification and without presenting a list of what they took away.

Not until the end of the court hearing did the judge, the public prosecutor and the jury raise any objections towards the not-guilty defense by the attorney and the family members.

After Mr. Cui Luwen attended the court hearing and pleaded for his sister, he went back to his hometown of Pingdu, Qingdao. A policeman by the surname of Sun called him up several times and asked him not to keep tracking the police's illegal search of his sister's apartment. He requested that Mr. Cui "cooperate" with the court. Someone from the Pingdu Politics and Law Committee also went to Mr. Cui Luwen's wife's work unit and threatened his wife, saying that Cui Luwen was causing trouble. They said that they had been "treating him very well" and now they were planning to arrest Cui Luwen and possibly sentence him. They told Mr. Cui's wife to inform Mr. Cui to stop being "uncooperative" the next time.

Background:

On the morning of September 22, 2005, Liu Yong, Sun Weifeng and another policeman from the Anti-[slanderous term omitted] Department of Licang District, Qingdao City, went to the Qingdao City Sodium Silicate Factory and illegally arrested 33-year-old Ms. Cui Luning. She was working at that time. Afterwards, they illegally ransacked Ms. Cui's apartment in Licang District for four hours. They loaded her belongings into two cars, including a computer, printer, TV, DVD player, cash, checkbooks, and many other materials.

While ransacking Ms. Cui's apartment, the police used her cell phone. They tried to contact the people who called her to determine their identities. They sent text messages saying, "Xiao Cui is in trouble now. Come to her home quickly. Do not say anything." They made an attempt to deceive and arrest more practitioners, but they did not succeed. Before they left, the police fiercely threatened Ms. Cui's neighbor to not tell anyone about her arrest. On the morning of September 26, 2005, four to five policemen once again intruded into Ms. Cui's apartment. They interrogated her parents by demanding who they were and how they came into the apartment and who informed them, etc. They took away another bag of personal items in front of her parents.

Ms. Cui Luning was illegally detained at the Dashan Detention Center, Qingdao City. One month later, she was illegally transferred to the 610 Office of Qingdao City to undergo brainwashing. Her arrest order was approved until December 23, after which she was officially sent to the Dashan Detention Center for further illegal detention.

Under the influence of the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP's) ideology and education year after year, these so-called "public servants" no longer have a normal way of thinking, and they have totally lost their human nature. If the person being persecuted does not say anything in their own defense, they would deceive everyone, saying that that person being persecuted is guilty and therefore he/she has nothing to say. If the person being persecuted tries to use the law to validate his/her own legal rights, they would frame a case against that person by saying that he/she is trying to make trouble. They would even ask that person to cooperate with them by accepting the persecution.
