April 25: From the 1999 Peaceful Appeal to Today's Ten Million Withdrawals from the CCP

(Clearwisdom.net) April 25, 2006 marks the seventh anniversary of the "April 25" peaceful appeal by Falun Gong practitioners. So far over ten million people have chosen to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations. Looking back at the past seven years, the CCP is walking on a path leading to its destruction.

Seven years ago, on April 25, 1999, over 10,000 practitioners went to the Appeals Office outside the central government compound in Zhongnanhai to appeal. The reason for the appeal was that practitioners had been harassed by local police while practicing in parks. False propaganda about Falun Gong was being broadcast by state-controlled TV, newspaper and magazines. Tianjin police had beaten and arrested local practitioners. They had no way to seek justice from local governments. Out of their trust in the central government, practitioners went to Beijing to appeal on April 25. The then-premier Zhu Rongji had a talk with representatives of the practitioners and he gave proper instructions on how to solve the problems. The then-peaceful handling of the "April 25" appeal won praise from the international community.

If the central government had followed Zhu Rongji's instructions to give practitioners a peaceful cultivation environment and allow the lawful publication of Falun Gong books, the CCP would have had a good chance for survival. Looking back, the April 25 appeal was an opportunity history gave the CCP to survive.

However, out of their jealousy, Jiang Zemin and his gang could not tolerate Zhu Rongji's handling of the Falun Gong issue, so they spent three months plotting how to persecute Falun Gong. First, on June 10, 1999, they established the so-called 610 Office to specifically persecute Falun Gong. Then on July 20, 1999, they openly launched a full-scale persecution of Falun Gong. The gang's suppression of Falun Gong fits the evil, vicious, and competitive nature of the CCP. The terror mechanism and propaganda machine the CCP has developed during its rule over its citizens helped spread the persecution. Just as is described in the fifth commentary of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, Jiang Zemin and the CCP are using each other to persecute Falun Gong.

The persecution of Falun Gong put millions of Falun Gong practitioners and their families opposite the CCP and Jiang Zemin, paving the road to the CCP's elimination.

Even so, Falun Gong practitioners have been giving opportunities to Jiang and the CCP to correct their mistakes. After the persecution began, numerous letters explaining the true facts of Falun Gong and advising the central government to stop the persecution poured in to CCP high-ranking officials from all over the country and around the world. However, the CCP utilized its police force and local governments to intercept practitioners who went to Beijing or provincial capitals to appeal. But practitioners still risked their lives and went to appeal on foot or by bike. Every time practitioners were intercepted, detained, beaten, or persecuted, and every time letters written by practitioners to the government were thrown away or burnt, Jiang and the CCP were pushing away opportunities presented to them.

During the past seven years, many practitioners have been injured or tortured to death, and their families broken apart. Numerous family members, relatives, friends, and colleagues of practitioners were implicated and brainwashed to various degrees.

According to news collected painstakingly from various sources, at least 2,871 practitioners have been tortured to death since July 20, 1999. The deaths are spread across China, taking place in all 31 provinces. With the escalation of the persecution, the death toll is still rising. At least 6,000 practitioners have been illegally sentenced, over 100,000 people have been sent to labor camps, several thousand have been sent to mental hospitals to be injected with nerve-damaging drugs, many people have been forcibly admitted to brainwashing classes to be persecuted, and even more people have been beaten and fined by so-called law-enforcement officers.

According to a statement issued by the "World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong" on March 20, 2003, "Jiang Zemin carries out a policy of 'Defaming their reputation, bankrupting them financially, destroying them physically'" in an attempt to eradicate Falun Gong and has so far drawn upon an enormous amount of manpower and financial resources nationwide. A great deal of funding has been taken out of the state treasury and other sources to support this persecution. Therefore, Chinese people's money that was earned with sweat and blood through hard labor was used to persecute these people themselves. This has caused tremendous pressure on the livelihoods of people throughout China and has brought grave consequences to the nation's economic development."

In March of this year, several witnesses disclosed the horrible large-scale organ harvesting of live practitioners that began in 2001. We believe the true facts of the persecution are far more brutal than we know. However, the CCP is still deceiving people and covering up its crimes.

But no matter how hard the CCP tries to cover up its crimes, it cannot change the path it chose leading to destruction. The seven-year persecution has angered both man and gods. Chinese citizens are coming to know more about the crimes the CCP commits in persecuting Falun Gong, they are seeing through the evil nature of the CCP, and they're awakening. To date more than ten million people have wisely chosen to withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations.

The CCP has been gradually walking to its own destruction since April 25, 1999.
