Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Wang Liang (alias) is from Hubei Province. He graduated from the Chemistry Department of Shanghai Normal University in 1999. He had to leave home and become destitute after July 20, 1999 to avoid being arrested at home. He was taken in by fellow practitioners in Hebei Province in 2002. He became a laborer, seeking jobs in Shandong Province together with fellow practitioners from Hebei Province. In the winter of 2004, policemen from Yantai City arrested him because he didn't have any personal ID. His employer bailed him out, but he went missing on the way from Yantai City to Shijiazhuang City in Hebei Province.

Practitioner Ms. Ji Shuhua lived in Xuzhuang Village, Jianqiao Township, Fucheng County, Hebei Province. She went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Dafa, was arrested, and then sentenced to forced labor. After being released, she had to leave home and get a labor job because her family was strongly against her cultivating Falun Gong. She was fired several times and has been missing since 2005.
