Kansas: "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" Art Exhibition Held at State Capitol (Photos)
By a practitioner from Kansas
(Clearwisdom.net) January through March is the busiest season for the
Kansas State Capitol Building in Topeka. Over 160 elected representatives come
back to the building to process major issues and routine work. Meanwhile, many
groups, organizations and families come to visit for business or for
sightseeing. Of course, there are also plenty of lobbyist activities as well. From March 20 to 24, 2006, practitioners hosted the
"Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" Art Exhibition in the main lobby
of the first floor of the State Capitol to further introduce Falun Gong and
expose the evil persecution and the recently disclosed atrocities in Sujiatun to
government officials and visitors. Almost every adult who passed by signed the
petition calling to investigate the Sujiatun Concentration Camp. People were
very impressed by the peace and harmony of Falun Gong and asked where they could
learn the practice. Many state representatives encouraged us with their smiles. March 22 is Nephew/Niece Day, and practitioner Gary was busy the whole day
receiving group after group of kids. The person who made the deepest impression
on him was a little girl accompanied by her aunt. The girl came to him twice to
express her deep sympathy to the girl in the painting "Homeless". A mother and a daughter viewed every artwork carefully. Then the little girl
quietly asked Gary if she could take some pictures of the artwork. When she got
permission from the practitioner, she was so happy. Upon learning of the Chinese
Communist Party's (CCP's) killing of Falun Gong practitioners for their organs
in the Sujiatun Concentration Camp, the mother immediately signed the petition. Maria is a staff member in the building. The painting that she liked the most
is a standing Buddha. She said, "I felt that all the unease and discomfort
disappeared and my heart was filled with peace whenever I passed by the painting
of Buddha." She felt so happy for being able to take a picture with the
Buddha. After viewing the exhibit, a Chinese family was deeply touched by the peace
of Falun Gong and appalled by the brutality of the CCP. The exhibition was scheduled to conclude on the afternoon of March 24. When
practitioners started to take down the paintings, a young man was still
carefully looking at them. He sincerely extended his gratitude to the
practitioners for bringing such beautiful works to the state capitol and asked
where he could learn Falun Gong. He left happily with practice site information.
