On March 1, 2005, some vicious people in our area launched another round of illegal arrests targeting Falun Dafa practitioners. They searched my home and confiscated my personal belongings. Then they sent me to a forced labor camp. I was put in the Seventh Squad of the Fourth Group at the forced labor camp. At that time, the Seventh Squad was forced to install fences along a railroad. When I was carrying a concrete pod, I fell down on the icy road. The pod broke. Zhou, the lead policeman of the Seventh Squad, beat me. He focused on beating my head and slapping my face. Immediately, my face was covered with blood and bruises. I couldn't see well and I couldn't hear clearly. A few days later, I could hear through my right ear, but nothing through my left ear.
I came to realize that I shouldn't have cooperated with the forced labor as if I were a criminal. Why did I listen to the evil's commands and follow their orders? I decided to actively protest the persecution. One day, I managed to run away from the work site. The police and criminals were terrified and ran after me. They caught me and beat me again. My ear condition became worse. Malicious people called me "the deaf." Since then, they no longer use my name, but instead call me "the old deaf." I told the police, "I will never work for you. I am not a criminal. I am a Falun Dafa practitioner. I am a good person. Whoever persecutes me will be punished by gods."
On September 6, 2005, the Fourth Group was transferred to another area to work. They didn't allow Falun Dafa practitioners to go. Therefore, they moved four of us practitioners from the Fourth Group to the First Group, making it nine practitioners in the First Group. On September 11, in order to further protest the persecution, all of us nine practitioners refused to wear the labor camp uniform. The head of the First Group led sixty criminals to beat us. The incident was soon exposed on the Internet. Fellow practitioners soon made phone calls and clarified the truth to the people who were involved in the incident. These people were shocked. They said they would never mistreat Falun Dafa practitioners again and they would learn to be good people. The head of the First Group changed a lot after that. When he meets with Falun Gong practitioners now, he greets us first and he no longer laughs at us. I came to realize that this incident actually saved many people since every one at the forced labor camp learned what happened.
Since then, my xinxing level has improved. I no longer fear the evil. I was able to loudly explain the facts of Falun Gong to people who mistreated practitioners. We started a hunger strike for seven days to protest the illegal detention. Many police have changed their attitude towards us since then. Now even the criminals have learned that Falun Dafa is good and they are happy to be with Falun Gong practitioners. They are supportive of us practicing the Dafa exercises. Some of them even secretly learned the exercises. Some joined us in memorizing Teacher's poems. The police wished we would not bring them any "trouble." Therefore they simply ignored those who reported on us for clarifying the truth about the persecution and the evil Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
Practitioners illegally detained took it as our first priority to remove attachments, save sentient beings, and protest the persecution. However, the cultivation way is never easy and we are bound to be faced with tribulations and tests. At the Third Group, police beat up Li Guoliang, a practitioner that was detained in January 2006, because he refused to follow the evil's order to shovel snow. On February 1 2006, I threw away my forced labor camp uniform. Policeman Li, the head of the Fourth Group, started to use an electric baton to beat me and give me electric shocks. He intentionally shocked my ears. Now I can't hear anything through either of my ears. When we studied the Fa and shared our understandings, I couldn't hear anything either. I believe Li will wake up when we clarify the truth to him more.
Just as Teacher has told us, the environment is becoming more relaxed. When we send forth righteous thoughts, it's easier to eliminate the evil now. Forced labor camps are unwilling to take in Falun Gong practitioners and they refuse to take in any practitioners that are on hunger strike. They even shortened the terms for practitioners. Currently, we practitioners all refuse to work at the forced labor camp. Even the police believe in the freedom of belief and they are against the evil CCP in their hearts. Some policemen told us how the other policemen persecuted practitioners in the other groups, indicating that they no longer wanted to participate in the persecution.
Dafa practitioners are mature now. There are no more practitioners that have been "transformed." Also, we can improve our understanding on the Fa very quickly. Our xinxing levels have gradually improved. Therefore, we cherish every difficult day. Being illegally imprisoned, we send forth righteous thoughts every hour on the hour. Then we study the Fa and do the exercises and share our understandings with each other. Still we feel what we did wasn't enough and we were not diligent enough. We all regret that we have not memorized all of the Fa. Therefore, we began meeting together to memorize the Fa. Still it's limited. We memorize the Fa every day and every day we have felt improvements. We do the exercises every day. Gradually, we have felt that our hearts have expanded and that we have obtained wisdom. Our bodies and minds have become more purified and we were able to truly focus on the Fa when we memorize the Fa. During this process of cleansing, we have found the ability to remove any attachments.
However, during these life and death challenges, I felt I didn't completely pass all the tests each time. I knew I had eliminated some of my attachments, but some still remained. When I clarified the truth to everyday people before I was illegally imprisoned, I met many people that refused to accept it. I wondered how to deal with those people who irrationally argued against the truth? Are those people not worthy of being saved? When I repeatedly clarified the truth to them, I found most of them eventually listened and agreed with what I said. They managed to jump out of the evil CCP culture's constraints and started to think on their own about their past and the CCP's evil nature. The evil party starts brainwashing people beginning with the first grade in elementary schools. They force children to join the CCP's organizations and swear their lives to the CCP. They try to control every person. They force everyone to be involved in politics and follow the CCP, an evil cult. Whoever tries to leave this evil cult will be persecuted and even lose his or her life.
Dafa practitioners have huge responsibilities. We need to be strict with ourselves to keep up with the Fa rectification. Let's cherish each and every day we have here! Sometimes I become anxious since I still have so many attachments. What should I do? Well, cultivate. We must solidly cultivate ourselves!
