Persecution Facts from Nanshan Prison in Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province

(Clearwisdom.net) On December 14, 2005, Cui Yuanqi, a new team leader, came to the Fourth Team of the No. 1 District in Nanshan Prison. In conjunction with this event, the director of the guards, Niu Baojin, along with a group of guards began a new round of persecution against Dafa practitioners. They put practitioners Mr. Hu Jianguo from Chaoyang City and Mr. Sun Jian from Panjin City into solitary confinement and attempted to force them to write the five statements of "transformation" (statements renouncing Falun Dafa).

When Hu Jianguo and Sun Jian called out, "Falun Dafa is good," the guards stuffed a sock into Mr. Hu's mouth, and they shackled them to benches. These benches are designed to torture Dafa practitioners. They are made from two timbers 50 to 60 centimeters (20-24 in.) in height and 30 centimeters (12 in.) in width connected by an iron rod. There are also two iron rings attached to the timbers. A person sits on the bench and their legs are separated, then their arms are pulled through the rings and the handcuffs and shackles are put back on. One is then fixed in this position and cannot straighten their back. Many practitioners were disabled after being released from the bench. Mr. Hu Jianguo and Mr. Sun Jian were shackled to the bench for eleven days. During that awful time, the guards instigated ten inmates to take turns depriving them of sleep. They were devastated physically and mentally. Their wrists were cut open by the handcuffs and the skin on their buttocks was torn open. However, several days later, they were forced onto the bench again and deprived of covers during the cold nights. They were threatened that if they refused to write the five statements, they would not be released from solitary confinement.

When the practitioners pointed out the criminal behavior the guards displayed, and that they planned to bring them to court, the guards replied, "You want to sue us? Where can you go? You don't have any freedom. You want human rights? You have no rights whatsoever while you are here. My job is keeping you alive and making your life miserable." There was a practitioner, Mr. Li, who had been in solitary confinement for 48 days and shackled on the bench for 30 days. The guards brutally force-fed him, and the torture resulted in his suffering from both urinary and fecal incontinence.

The persecution is still ongoing in Nanshan Prison. The guards add pressure to the practitioners who refuse to be "transformed." They deprive Dafa practitioners of all rights, including not being allowed to spend the money in their accounts, the packages sent by their relatives are returned, and they are kept in solitary confinement for long periods of time. The environment is abominable.

We appeal to Dafa practitioners all over the world, as well as to all people of justice, to pay close attention to the situation of Dafa practitioners illegally held in Nanshan Prison.
