Taiwan: Falun Gong Practitioners from Penghu Island Commemorate Fellow Practitioners Who Died in the Persecution (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) In order to rescue fellow Falun Gong practitioners in
Mainland China who are suffering the Chinese communist regime's persecution, and
to allow more people to learn about and pay attention to the persecution of
Falun Gong in China that has been going on for nearly seven years, Taiwanese
Falun Gong practitioners from Penghu held a press conference on the evening of
May 5, 2006. In the press conference, practitioners supported the 10 million
Chinese people's withdrawals from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and
commemorated fellow practitioners on the Mainland who died from the persecution.
Practitioners hope that Taiwanese righteous and independent media coverage of
the event will help urge the international society to conduct a thorough
investigation into the persecution. The event host, Kaixin Lin, first introduced the purpose of the press
conference. She explained that since July 20, 1999, the Chinese communist regime
has used genocidal means to persecute Falun Gong practitioners who follow the
principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance. In March of this year, a
senior reporter who fled from the CCP's control to the U.S. disclosed that the
CCP had a secret concentration camp in Sujiatun, Shenyang, where Falun Gong
practitioners were detained and their organs were harvested while they were
still alive. A short while later, a former employee from Liaoning Provincial
Thrombus Hospital of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine, whose ex-husband
was one of the surgeons in charge of removing organs, verified the shocking news
that a great amount of organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners
occurred in her hospital. Another witness who identified himself as "a veteran military doctor in
the General Logistics Department of the Shenyang Military Region" stepped
forward to point out that the Sujiatun Concentration Camp indeed exists, but
said that the Sujiatun facility is only one of 36 similar concentration camps
across the country. The exposed facts aroused attention from the international
community. Many human rights organizations expressed their astonishment and
condemnation. However, the Chinese communist regime did its utmost to cover up
its bloody crimes and eliminate all evidence at Sujiatun. The regime also sent a
great number of plainclothes agents disguised as common people to wander around
Sujiatun to deceive investigators from all over the world. The persecution is still going on and there are still a great number of Falun
Gong practitioners incarcerated in China's jails, labor camps and concentration
camps. Innocent people are facing the danger of death. Kaixin Lin called on
people to help rescue those people and condemn the CCP's atrocities. On the other hand, more than 10 million Chinese people who have realized the
CCP's nature have chosen to quit the CCP and its related organizations. They are
courageous enough to choose conscience and justice and therefore they have
chosen a bright future for themselves. We should congratulate them. Through the introduction, honored guests and people at the press conference
learned some basic facts about the current situation. A video program exposing
the organ harvesting in China was then played. Tape recordings of the voices of
Mainland medical doctors indicated that most of the organs harvested were from
living Falun Gong practitioners. Police officers on duty at the press conference
to maintain the public security also attentively watched the video program and
asked questions from time to time. Several honored guests attended the press conference. Mr. Chen Guangfu, chief
committee member of the Democratic Progressive Party of Penghu County, first
gave a speech. He asked, "Falun Gong practitioners cultivate themselves to
seek for the truth. What's wrong was that?" He condemned the CCP's
atrocities and asked how we could still allow the CCP to exist. It must be
demolished, he said. Mr. Chen also expressed his respect towards Falun Gong
practitioners for their selfless efforts to clarify the truth and
expose the persecution in recent years. The speaker of the Penghu County Council called to express his regret for not
being able to attend the press conference, as he had to attend a meeting. The
county magistrate and Director of Tourist Bureau also expressed their regrets
for scheduling conflicts. Ms. Nie Shuwen, a former pediatrician from Shanghai, pointed out that it's
very hard to find a match for organ transplants. Sometimes people have to wait
for several years. Now, many hospitals in Mainland China have asked patients who
need organ transplants to come over and have the operation done as soon as
possible. They even claimed that the transplantation can be done within a week
after the patient comes to the hospital. Some hospitals even said when taking
phone interviews that they could do it in two days. This is very suspicious.
Unless there is a relatively large living organ bank, it's impossible to find a
match so quickly. Dr. Nie called on people not to randomly go to the Mainland to
have organ transplant surgery. It might involve legal issues and it's quite
possible it would result in innocent people being killed. Lu Qiyuan, director of The Epoch Times, Penghu Office said that since The
Epoch Times published the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party
in November 2004, people from Mainland China have learned about the series of
commentaries through various channels including shortwave radio, breaking
through the Internet blockade, and receiving phone calls and faxes from
countries outside China. Consequently, people have truly realized the evil
nature of the CCP and one after another, people are quitting the CCP and its
related organizations. As of now, more than 10 million have withdrawn from the
party, and the CCP is facing its demise. Other speakers at the press conference included a Buddhist person, a local
merchant, teachers and a clerk. They expressed their support for Falun Gong
practitioners who are still imprisoned in Mainland China's labor camps, and
called for a stop to the CCP's atrocities. They also encouraged people to learn
the truth of Falun Gong. Penghu is in a busy sightseeing season right now. From time to time, tourists
stopped to listen to the speeches. They couldn't believe that such bloody crimes
are still committed in today's world. Some immediately condemned the CCP's
cruelty and signed a petition on a piece of white cloth to support Falun Gong.
