Two Elderly Female Practitioners Persecuted by the 610 Office in Jiayuguan City, Gansu Province By a Dafa practitioner in Mainland China
(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Dong Baofeng and Ms. Yu Shufen are both elderly
Falun Dafa practitioners from Jiayuguan City, Gansu Province. They were arrested
in 2005 and 2006 respectively. Their homes were raided and they were
illegally detained. Ms. Dong Baofeng has been secretly sentenced to
three years in jail and Ms. Yu Shufen has been detained for nearly a month. Ms. Dong Baofeng is 64 years old. She was followed and tracked by agents from
the 610 Office while she was handing out truth clarifying materials
on the evening of December 27, 2005. A group of policemen arrested her. They
later on broke into her home and conducted a thorough search until the early
hours of the next day. She was detained in the Custodial Station for nearly four
months, until recently, when she was secretly sentenced to three years in
prison. In detention, Ms. Dong was brutally beaten and tortured many times. The
authorities wouldn't allow her family members to visit her. In April 2004 she
was arrested and detained for 15 days, and her home was raided by 610
Office agents. Ms Yu Shufen is 68 years old. On the evening of March 25, 2006, while she was
distributing truth-clarifying materials, 610 Office personnel followed her and
arrested her. They broke into her home in the middle of the night and searched
the house frantically. The officials claimed that someone had reported her. Ms. Yu has been arrested, detained and fined, and her home has been raided
many times by the members of the 610 Office. This time the perpetrators
escalated the persecution against her for nearly a month and wouldn't allow
anybody, including her family members, to visit her. They threatened her lawyer
to prevent him from taking her case, so none of the local lawyers dared to
