Two Falun Gong Practitioners from Henan and Guangxi Provinces Died Due to Persecution (Photo)

Mr. Gao Futian, over 70 years old, was from Kaifeng City, Henan Province. He lived in the Residential Quarter of the Automobile Transportation Corporation in Kaifeng City. Gao Futian had heart disease and hypertension before practicing Falun Gong, but all his diseases disappeared after he started practicing Falun Gong in 1996. He told people about the persecution by mailing letters to them. In 2004, the police in Kaifeng City arrested Gao Futian and illegally searched his home and confiscated his property. His family members who are not Falun Gong practitioners were also arrested. Finally, they were released after the local police extorted more than 30,000 yuan from them. After he came home, he did not have a stable practice environment to continue the practice. Gao Futian died from his old diseases in February 2006.

Ms. Guo Junjuan, 34 years old, was a Falun Gong practitioner from Beihai City, Guangxi Province. She went to the provincial government to appeal for Falun Gong with her little son after the persecution started on July 20, 1999. Since then, she was unreasonably harassed by local officials from the State Security Department, the Joint Security Unit, local police station and the government and residential committee. She was arrested under false criminal charges in 2001. The local authorities extorted her family members. She became ill after she was released and died during the Chinese New Year in 2003.
