(Clearwisdom.net) On May 14, 2006, Falun Gong practitioners gathered on Parliament Hill to celebrate the Fourteenth Anniversary of the public introduction of Falun Dafa in a gentle spring rain.

A drum troupe from Montreal and choruses from both cities gave a performance. There was also poetry-reading, exercise demonstration and children's trumpet solo. A Falun Dafa Photo Exhibit attracted many tourists.

Falun Dafa Day Should Be a Holiday for All

Falun Gong practitioners enjoy the freedom of practicing Falun Gong in Canada, a sharp contrast to the overwhelming slandering propaganda and persecution in China. Ms. Gu Lili, who had recently come to Canada, had a strong feeling. She said the Chinese people could hardly hear any voice opposing (the CCP), much less the voice of Falun Gong. Because of the CCP's blockage of internet and media, the true stories could hardly reach the people. It wasn't until she came to Canada that she gained the true freedom.

Ms. Gu said Falun Gong practitioners in China celebrate Falun Dafa Day in various way despite the harsh circumstances. They post labels in public areas to let people know about the celebration. They hang up banners stating "Falun Dafa Is Good." and "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance" on light poles and other places. They spread the power and benefit of Falun Dafa and shook the persecutors.

Mr. Zhang from Montreal said Falun Dafa cured his stubborn disease and helped him quit smoking and drinking. He said cultivation had turned him to a better and caring person.

Mr. Xiao from Chinese community managed to attend the celebration despite the rain. He said he had witnessed the spirit of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance through Falun Gong practitioners these years. Every one of them was so unselfish and admirable!

Ms. Zhong said Falun Dafa Day is also Master's Birthday and the anniversary of Falun Dafa's public introduction. She thought it should be a holiday for everyone. Though many people hadn't realized it, they would know in the future that Master of Falun Dafa had saved us with tremendous bearing and sacrifice at an age of such poor morality. The gratitude couldn't be expressed by any language.

Honor Goes to Falun Dafa

Falun Gong practitioners have been clarifying the truth about Falun Gong to governments and the people in the past few years. They have received many awards and recognition. Artist and Falun Gong practitioner Kathy Gillis received Volunteer Honor Award for Art and Culture from the Mayor of Ottawa on May 3. Many pieces of her artwork were displayed in the "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance" Art Exhibition, which toured around the world. Cindy Chan, a mother of two, received recognition in National Volunteer Week two years ago. She said cultivation had made her see clearly what was good and bad, improved her writing, let her see her own shortcomings and become a better person. She said her award indicated Canada's recognition of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance. It also indicated Falun Gong practitioners' truth-clarification would benefit others, spread virtues, safeguard human rights and make a peaceful and healthy community.
