On October 19, 2004, police officers arrested Dafa practitioners Mr. Li Zhen and Mr. Zhang Li from Kaiping Town, Tangshan City, Hebei Province at their homes. They were taken to the Kaiping Police Department, where the police savagely beat and tortured them. Then they were sent to Hehuakeng Forced Labor Camp.
Mr. Zhang Wenliang is a Dafa practitioner from Tangshan City. In 2003 he was tortured at the No. 1 Detention Center until his legs were disabled, but he quickly recovered through Dafa practice after returning home. On October 19, 2004 he was arrested in a factory in Tangshan City and was also held at the Hehuakeng Forced Labor Camp.
The three Dafa practitioners remained determined in their righteous beliefs, even though they were savagely tortured. They clarified the truth and resisted brainwashing. Li Zhen and Zhang Wenliang were extremely weak, and Zhang Li lost consciousness several times from the beating. Li Zhen's wife left home to avoid further persecution. Zhang Li's wife Chen is still being held at the Kaiping Forced Labor Camp.
Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhang Limin, from Kaiping, Tangshan City, Hebei Province was arrested on June 19, 2004 for persisting in Falun Gong practice. She was held at the No. 1 Women's Forced Labor Camp in Kaiping, Hebei Province. Because she refused the brainwashing, she was tortured and showed symptoms of illnesses. Her family went to the labor camp and asked for her release, but the persecutors refused. Her current condition is unknown.
