Falun Dafa Practitioners Ms. Zhang Yonghong and Ms. He Jingyan from Yichang City, Hubei Province Illegally Sentenced to Seven Years in Prison

On September 23, 2005, Dafa practitioners Zhang Yonghong and He Jingyan from the Gezhouba Industrial Area in the Xiling District, Yichang City had their homes ransacked. They were then held at the No. 1 Detention Center in Yichang City. Recently, an insider revealed that in March 2006, Zhang Yonghong and He Jingyan were secretly tried at the Gezhouba Court. Officials from Yichang City's 610 Office and from the National Security Bureau audited the trial. The officials didn't inform the practitioners' families about the trial date, so no other Dafa practitioner knew about the trial, either. It was learned that the judge hastily announced that both Dafa practitioners were sentenced to seven years in prison soon after the trial began, but both practitioners said they firmly refuse to accept the verdict because it was an illegal trial. Their appeal has been submitted to the Yichang City Intermediate People's Court. It has been revealed that the final verdict for both practitioners will be issued in May.
