Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Yang Xuebao from Shenyang City Illegally Arrested

Mr. Yang Xuebao, 57, from the Yuhong District, Shenyang City, is a retired worker from the Yuhong District Seed Company. He previously suffered from numerous illnesses but recovered completely after practicing Falun Gong. In 2000, Mr. Yang went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and was illegally detained at the Longshan Forced Study Class in Shenyang City. In 2001 he was sent to the Zhangshi Forced Labor Camp in Shenyang City and released in the summer of 2001. His employer then sent him to Zhangshi Brainwashing Center. On April 5, 2006, officers from the Weigong Police Station, the Tiexi Police Department, and Tiexi National Security Bureau arrested him again. His wife, Cai Minzhi, was later arrested. Mr. Yang is now being held in the Tiexi District Detention Center, and Ms. Cai Minzhi is being held at the Shenyang City Detention Center. The Tiexi District Procuratorate recently approved the formal arrest of Yang Xuebao.

Mr. Yang's younger sister, Yang Xiaoyan, is also a Falun Gong practitioner. She was held at the Yuhong District Social Welfare Institute Brainwashing Center between October 1999 and May 2000. Ms. Yang was tortured until she became mentally disordered and passed away in July 2002.

Mr. Yang's mother is in her late 70s and living alone, uncared for. The wicked Party killed her daughter. His mother is now worrying about her son and daughter-in-law.
