Radio Free Asia: Falun Gong Practitioners in San Francisco Celebrate the Fourteenth Anniversary of Falun Gong's Public Introduction

(Clearwisdom.net) Radio Free Asia reported on May 15 that Falun Gong practitioners in San Francisco held a gathering and art performance last weekend to celebrate the fourteenth anniversary of Falun Gong's public introduction.

On May 13, 1992, Mr. Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Gong, held a Falun Gong introduction session in Changchun, Jilin Province for the first time. Later Falun Gong practitioners set this day as Falun Dafa Day and hold celebration activities each year.

The celebration of practitioners in San Francisco was held in Chinatown. The two-hundred-member San Francisco Divine Land Marching Band that was formed one month prior made its first public appearance. They played music "Falun Dafa is Good," etc., and marched in Chinatown. Later they went to a square in Chinatown to participate in a rally and performance.

The director of the band, Chinese famous singer and Falun Gong practitioner Guan Guimin gave a speech at the rally. He reviewed the 14-year history of Falun Gong's rapid spread during the first seven years in China, and the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) brutal persecution later. He said, "Though facing Chinese Communist Party's brutal persecution, Falun Gong has spread to more places. Many people across the world are practicing Falun Gong. This demonstrates that Falun Gong cannot be crushed. I believe that one day those people being deceived by the CCP will understand what Falun Dafa is."

A western practitioner from the US went to Tiananmen Square in February 2002 with twenty other western practitioners to display a banner reading "Falun Dafa is Good" and urging the CCP to stop its persecution of Falun Gong. They were then detained by the CCP regime.

He said at the rally, "We celebrate the fourteenth anniversary of Falun Dafa's public introduction. We don't forget that many fellow practitioners are being imprisoned and tortured in China. We call on the CCP regime to stop the persecution of Falun Gong and expose the CCP's crimes in the persecution to the whole world."

At the rally, practitioners performed signing, dancing, and played musical instruments. At the end, all participants sang a chorus of "Falun Dafa is good. Falun Dafa is good. Falun Dafa is righteous Fa. Buddha's light illuminates everywhere."
